I just Read Lunch is Served by Paul Romany and TC Tahoe this book has over sixty tricks with the out to lunch principle. I love this book there is not a better way to give out your business card then "out to lunch". My favorite trick in this book is Banchek's Remember To Forget The Stars. I belive everyone can find something in this book. Erick Olson

Hi Everybody
TC and I have been putting this book together for the past year. This is the best project I've ever worked on and am really proud to finally offer it to the magic community. So many magicians have been involved in putting this much needed book together. The publishers were actually able to get us these books to us earlier than we expected. All going well, these books should be at Hocus-Pocus sometime next week - earlier than expected. We were originally told by the publishing company that they wouldn't be ready until mid-November, however they have arrived at TC last week. We are just putting the CDs together that go with the book, and they will then be shipped out to the magic shops. TC is now doing a few lectures around Florida and he will have some books with him as well. This book has routines by Banachek, Kenton Knepper, Joe Givan, Gerard, Richard Webster, Greg Arce, Wayne Rogers - actually has 18 guest contributers. Tricks using the OTL principle range from close-up, mentalism, stand-up comedy to kids magic and stage. Here's another review from Tony Blanco. One of my favorite card principals in magic is Out to Lunch (OTL), and Paul Romhany and TC Tahoe's new book "Lunch is Served" is an "Amazing and Outstanding collection of OTL routines". Paul and TC have done the magic community a great honor by creating and collecting so many OTL routines. Within this book are routines for holiday themes to routines for the beginner to the full time working pro. All of these OTL routines are powerful and clever. I am totally blown away on just how many routines are in this the bible on the Out Lunch principal. Paul and TC have gather OTL routines from some of the master magicians from around the world to make this book even more impressive. To make this book even better (if that could be possible) is a CD-Rom with the graphics to make up the cards described. This book is a "must for every working magicians collection!" The spectator usually is required to Initial or otherwise mark the face of the top card. The marked card is removed from the banded packet and laid face down on the table or in the spectator's hands. Moments later when it is turned back over the face of the card has been inexplicably altered although it still has the original mark or initials made by the spectator. The change could be the printed revelation of a selected card or other thought of info--or simply some of the original printed graphics on the card have now changed. Yes the cd with the graphics come with the books.
http://www.hocus-pocus.com should have the books (and Cds) within the week... unless the whole country falls apart after the election In which case you will have to get them from Canada. |

For those that think OTL is just a close-up effect you will be in for a lovely surprise in this book. We have some great routines for kids entertainers using large cards that change color plus some stand up comedy and mentalism routines - complete with routines and scripts.
Another review in, this time from David Regal. "TC Tahoe and Paul Romhany have contributed to and gathered a wealth of inventiveness and presented the material in a manner that is crisp, to the point, and loaded with potential - I cannot imagine a magician reading this book without finding a trick he wants to put in his wallet and have ready to go whenever magic is called for. It's like carrying a loaded weapon." -- DAVID REGAL

This is such a great resource, from many great minds.
I don't wanna give any secrets away, but Doc classes it up, Paul is brilliant, and TC has an unprecedented slant on the whole idea. This is brain candy man. A total springboard. If your springboard is broken then no worries, there are enough effects here to carry a whole show in a wallet. Super Kudos TC and Paul! I feel very priviledged to own this. DT3 |

Read it. There are lots and lots of ideas for people to use. Many have a different take on the usual way the principle is used. Great thinking by a lot of the guys.

The Mark Wilson Course in Magic, as originally configured, came with a stack of printed OTL cards with the classic graphics. (Or something very close to them, anyway.)

I thought..and I am often wrong..just ask my wife...I thought The Mark Wilson cards were the Genie Cards.
I would do what Greg says...but then he always has good advice. Good luck |
