Yeah, Blizzard is great! When I first saw it performed and the guy asked me to examine the deck I thought he was joking. Great investment.

7 cards, one chosen by the spectator and turns out to have the word 'YOURS' in bold on the face where as all the rest have 'MINE' on.
No double lifts, sleights, fail safe etc. I don't like it though and you will probably realise why when you buy it. |

Blizzard is great. It does take some nerve to do the move at first, but it flies right by them.

I'm sorry but NFW is so bad!! The cards look so thick at the start. I don't have it, don't want it and never will want it.

Wow, you guys really don't perform these tricks, do you? I do this tricks every single day and maybe once or twice a month does somebody notice anything funny looking.
To answer your question, "What's Mine is Mine" is a very simple little packet that nonetheless gets a great reaction from people. I must admit that I don't like it, but that's just personal taste. It doesn't reset automatically, but you can do it yourself in a couple of seconds. Blizzard is a larger and more formal effect. The reset time is about 30 seconds. It's a fabulous effect, especially if you're planning on getting a few magicians with it. Let me say that you can get just as good a reaction from either of these effects. It really depends on how you present, much like every other magic trick on Earth I suppose. To those who are having trouble with spectators spotting the extra thickness of the cards, I suggest looking your presentation and figuring out what it is about it that's giving it away.

I only have the Blizzard. I do not have What's Mine is Mine, so I can't compare the two. What I can tell you is that Blizzard is GREAT! Very cool effect. Get it! You'll love it.

I just ran across What Mine Is mine. It is a simple trick so no need to get worried about it. Fast and clever and makes people laugh. What more can you ask for from an inexpensive trick.

The performance of What's Mine is Mine can be seen here - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_LDj-tbX35I
I have also used and seen others use Jay Sankey's version where the spectator has to find the only Red Jack out of 11 Black Jacks (or his similar Resistance Is Futile). I too thought it would be much too obvious both in method and because of the thick card. But spectator's love it, never need to touch the card and of course it works best if repeated 1 or 2 times. The repetition makes it more amazing rather than exposing the method. (I would not repeat Resistance Is Futile) Adam V is correct it has to do with presentation and a little audience management. And of course, Blizzard is amazing if you are in the right setting to perform it. |

AlexB,
I was thinking the same thing! However, I guess you sacrafice a bit of the clean-ness from multiple forcing...check out Mr. Youell classic force video if you can find it, and then tell me why someone would pay for this effect? Billy |

Classic force would be ideal, but in this scenario you really need 100% probability of success. I often do a spread cull force, and nobody has ever spotted anything. It feels completely fair to them. Anyway, there are loads of tricks that just follow the pattern "force - reveal". This one is admittedly quite funny, and I can see myself doing it if I need something quick and funny, but why pay money for some strange method that leaves you dirty?

What I'm wondering is how anyone could compare What's Mine Is Mine and Blizzard? TOTALLY different effects!
Also, what makes What's Mine Is Mine so nice is how clean the selection is. You really want to classic force from a packet of eight cards? Much better to have it look totally clean and above suspicion. Some tricks work well with a simple glide force. Not this one. This one is all about the fairness of the selection.

Cameron, of course if forcing, one would use a full deck. Does, in your experience, a glide force really look suspicious to the spectators? Surely, most specs never suspect a force, because they have never even thought about the concept.
