He just didn't want everyone and their mother getting it as it wasn't finished. It was only for the fans to check out his progress. It was never meant to be broadcast on all the forums for the general public. It wasn't supposed to be secret as anyone that emailed him about it was given the link, but at the same time wasn't for general release. He never used the term secret or anything.lol. People are twisting things a bit I think. I wrote De'vo about it and he comfirmed what I just wrote. He said he did ask people not to spread it all over just because it wasn't finished and wasn't ready for commercial release, but that people that were really interested in the project were welcome to check it out.

I'm one of the first to see the introduction titles on the DVD and it is incredible how cool they look. Is like a movie theme.
I just love the way De'vo put the music and the clips, it is awesome. I guarantee the Dvd is not ready yet just the intros, ok? So be patient. Peace. Skill

Frankly, it’s a large and wonderful world with room for everyone. I love being a “generalist”. I work kids shows (props/bags/boxes), the street (cups and stuff), do bar magic stand-up work (comedy and more props), classic close-up (finger fling stuff) and I have worked a small illusion show and have even done the odd platform manipulation act. On top of all that I started in a carnival (platform stuff and what is now called “geek” magic, fire eating, glass dancing, bed of nails stuff). I love it all.
I have never mastered the flourish stuff but love watching a master at it. It is not magic but is truly magical (I hope you understand the difference). It seems to be a wonderful ability to juggle cards in a way that most finger flingers dream about. It is real show-off stuff. But then I love a juggler, a chair balancer, a wirewalker, sword sallower, and fire breather too. I just love to be entertained and amused, especially by the proficient eccentrics of our world. Personally, at my age, I will never take the time (don’t have the time really) to learn to perform this stuff and no longer have the digital dexterity needed to master it, but that does not take anything away from it or those individuals who can and do take the time and do have the dexterity to master if. I always saw magic as a performing art, in which the goal was to entertain and make money (earn a living). I can’t figure out how to make money simply doing the flourish thing (other than making teaching tapes for other flourish enthusiasts). Frankly, I wouldn’t worry about anyone putting you down for your love of anything. You don’t need to spend the energy defending against that kind of negative BS. There is not a sub-field in entertaining that isn’t put down by someone. Do what you love, get good at it, and maybe even make a few bucks doing it. Above all have fun at whatever you do!

Mr. Murphy,
Well said. I truly admire you for being so open minded about magic! To bash someone for what they like or what they do because it is different from what you like or do is narrow minded and well, just plain STUPID! This shows you ignorance and narrow mindedness that only makes you look like a jerk. I for one LOVE all types of magic, manipulation, juggling...whatever, big or small, and I find GREAT pleasure is watching a TRUE MASTER work at his craft...no matter what it is. Thanks for the inspirational words and fresh view! You REALLY are the MAN!

Hey, MURPHY, I think you are wrong man. Those guys making a lot of money doing just flourishes, because they love the word ARTS De'vo writes this, "As far as I know, we are the only ones that do flourish only shows and routines. Besides our European counter-parts of course (Ulmen4, Marius, Yoseph, and the rest of the crew). Flourishes are no longer for just accenting, they are taking presidence and on center stage! As they should be. De'vo" Skill

I say good for them! I love hearing success stories.
As I said in my post, do what you love and do it well. They obviously do. I haven’t seen any of the folks you named work. That doesn’t mean anything except that I haven’t had the opportunity to see them work. In fact I have never seen an act made entirely of card juggling (flourishes). I am looking forward to seeing one. I am glad to hear that there venue’s out there that will pay a person a living for performing card flourishes. I personally haven’t run across one yet. As I have always said, if you do something and do it well, eventually someone will pay you to do it! I love being an artist but I hate being a starving artist! Go for it!

I think I can understand, there has been TONS of De'vo talk from his enthusiastic fans—I am one of them. We are all just excited that there is something new out there, and want to be a part of it. Some of his fans are a little over enthusiastic, or borderline fanatical ... lol ... but every great artist will have those. De'vo has been stalked, flooded with emails, magicians camping out on his doorstep. For real! There are some strange people out there!
All De'vo wanted to do was share his art with those that understood him. It seems that there are few that really do understand him, and turn what he is trying to do into something else. He already cancelled his book. He stopped the Superhandz forum because people were stealing his stuff and selling it on the internet. I'm surprised he even decided to put out a DVD. I am excited, and want to share it with others. I am not advertising for him and actually would be happier if no-one else bought it. Limited edition of 1 if you ask me! lol. |

If you really want to see the clip I would just email Devo and ask. It's not that long until the DVD is going to be released anyway. If you go to the handlordz site there's loads of info about it.

Does it matter if people know that De'vo is going to Vegas or not? I wish De'vo best of luck when he is in Vegas, however, why would it matter if we did or didn't know if he was in Vegas or not?
I think it was kind of mack10 to post that there will be a delay on the CTG DVD so that those who are interested will know. But Houdinez, let's get real here, why would anyone care if someone knew that someone else was going to Vegas or not? This puzzles me. Doug. |

I don't get it either. Probably the first time Sponge and I agree on anything.lol
De'vo doesn't care if people know or not. He is performing up and down the strip in most every major casino. People will be able to find out he's there anyway. No secret. And I just was told after Vegas he is going to perform in Texas for 2 WEEKS so CTG may be delayed even further. Shucks. Oh well, I'll be waiting, already have my money set aside. |

After Vegas it's Texas. Then where? Looks like he is on tour.
I heard the CTG is almost all the way filmed and taught. Just a few more moves and we'll be loving life. J Any updates on the release of CTG? Haven't seen anything for a couple of weeks. J |
