You might say reality is the result of complex negotiations between the observer and the observed. But that is simply a point of view.
Many Thanks Garrad |

I'm not even half way through, but I'm pretty pleased so far. The one with the milk has already had some field testing today and went down pretty well.
Never let it be said that I only complain.

It is certainly no secret that I am a fan of Patrick's work. While I have enjoyed the brilliant thinking in each of his books, this one may be my favorite. "The Call" (Rock, Paper, Scissors) is WELL worth the price alone. I used it and another idea from his book last night to give them a test run... perfect.
The methods here are workable, manageable and convincing. This part is key. There are a number of ideas in print that work with similar principles, but Mr. Redford's applications and "frame" for these create a whole new gestalt. This is fantastic work. I am truly impressed (but no surprised). Sean |

I don't think I can really add anything new to the praise that others have already given 'Heptagon', but I have to chime in anyway. I am *extremely* impressed with the book. The printing etc is lovely, seems higher quality to 'Triangle' although I haven't dug that out to actually compare.
But the content is just great. Where there is mathematical procedure at work, it is well disguised and not the only thing going on. The same principle is used more than once yet gives rise to very different-feeling effects. It's not all math-logic stuff either. The 'hidden' effect is a very nice psychological force indeed, and the drawing duplication - probably the least surefire piece - is something I am itching to try out. These effects are great for the phone and in some cases would play very nicely in person too. As far as I'm concerned, 'Heptagon' is an absolute diamond. |

Luke,
Thanks for your enthusiasm and your kind words here. Hopefully, the rest of the Heptagon +'s will begin to arrive around the world this week! Do let me know how the effects play for you and your audiences! -Patrick |

Finally got around to reading this and WOW!
I vote this as a "must have" and not just for people wanting to do stuff over the phone. I can't say enough about "The Call" ... the rock paper scissors routine! This is the first time I've read this type of routine where the game feels and looks like it should with the player actually using his hands to throw the game rather then three bits of paper. That hidden effect is great too. My favorite routines so far are "The Call" (Rock Paper Scissors), "Remote Composition" (Remote Viewing), and the "Drinks on Me" (Russian Roulette type routine) I've been having a lot of fun with this. Is it me or is the art actually better than Triangle? Overall I would say this is better than most other telephone mind reading effects. I would also say that this stuff is just as good on the phone as it is in person. I appreciate the lack of making the spectators do any math and lack of number tricks. I also appreciate that the one card trick isn't a card trick at all. If you don't have this you're missing out. -Tim |

Well, I finally got this. Really great ideas for phone effects. I loved the way you can use the same procedure to get a different effect going.
For those that are considering putting in any "over the phone" effects into their arsenal then this is a must have book. Greg

Just got this and and Pentagon in today (already read and loved Triangle and Square). Started with Heptagon+ and have to say the first effect, "The Call"--the rock, paper, scissors routine--is brilliant. Top shelf effect, Patrick. My kind of material. I love mentalism that can be framed as a mind game then turn into something astonishing. Can't wait to read more. Beautiful books--the effects as well as the illustrations and writing. Happy customer already.
