The French drop is one of my favorite vanishes I show it to my friends all the time. They are always amazed even though it is a simple trick, when you exaggerate the grab.

Awesome, yeah my French drop came pretty naturally, assuming most do. But I have tons of problems with the retention vanish. But that is off subject. As long as you and your friends like it that is all that matters.

The French Drop is associated with beginning coin magic, but when well motovated and done at the proper moment, the FD is a very deceptive move. A great little sleight to have in your tool box.
Mediocrity is greatly under rated!

Try doing the drop without the taking hand. Play with it, and in the context of a routine you have a nice little move, that looks like an instant vanish.
I saw Nathan Kranzo do this at a lecture his past weekend, and it looked very cool. Josh |

First it's not a trick It is shorthand to describe where you: Show a coin in one hand so that the coin faces the audience and then take the coin from that hand. What you do then, be it place the coin in your pocket or just hold it while your other hand makes gestures or waves a wand is up to you.
...to all the coins I've dropped here
