I have the option of choosing one Jay Sankey magic effect, DVD, book etc. Price is of no concern. So what I'm asking is which would be the best to buy and why?
Thanks Scott. |

Magic effect: Holy Moly (Cool effect of moving a hole on a washer)
DVD: Revolutionary Coin Magic (Very creative coin DVD, 2hrs of stuff!) Book: Sankey Unleashed (Nice variety of Sankey effects) |

I'd go with a book. I second Sankey Unleashed or 100% Sankey. You'll get much more out of a book than "one trick".

Personally, I think the simplicty of Paperclipped is hard to beat. It's stunning.

I'd probably pick up his book on theory, just to get his perspective. Those seem to be the only books that are holding my interest these days.

Paperclipped may well be his greatest marketed trick, In flash is a close rival.
I would suggest that for 'walkaround'/strolling magic 'holy Moly' is the best. In terms of DVDs I'd say 'Front Row Sankey' or, from his 'The Very Best of Jay Sankey', vol 1 or vol 3 (both equally good). I think vol 3 has 'paperclipped' on it but its called 'X*!*!', however vol 1 is very strong too, it's a close rival. If you've the budget get the whole 3 vol set!

Paperclipped. 172.3 applications possible, and the DVD contains no obscenities.

Definitely "In a Flash". Out of all of the tricks I perform, that one usually gets the best reactions. You can borrow the quarter and in the end the spectator has a signed card and the initialed quarter as a souvenir. I usually do a few card tricks, a few coin tricks, then end with that since it combines cards, coins, and fire. The very best part about the trick especially for newbies is that you end clean. I'm really enjoying Holy Moly and it's easy to clean up but you don't end clean which can be awkward for newbies.

Fxdude,
Can you tell us what tricks you do leading up to In A Flash? I also love IAF and love how people ALWAYS think I spend lots of money on new decks of cards. Thanks! Mike |
