Folks - Ive drawn a bit of a mind blank with this one. I love the prop and think its outstanding but everything I come up with tends to lean towards a magic trick rather than a mentalism effect. Any ideas or pointers in the right direction?

Doesn't the booklet that comes with the effect give any direction towards mentaism?

You may want to think a little bizarrely.

First thing that came to MY mind when I saw this product from Richard brought me back to an essay an "Apports" from Scott Moore-Davis' SEANCE magazine.
Things are about to change........ LIGHTS!!!

There is Mental Magic and then there is Mentalism. I demonstrate traditional Psychic feats. I demonstrate the ancient art of scrying,(crystal gazing),automatic writing, remote viewing and the like.Richard Osterlind's Thought Scan is mentalism. But Richard also has developed a great amount of mental magic, all of it outstanding.

Think of two faced as a utility device instead of an effect.
Revelations, morphs of revelations, ect.. signed to unsigned uses... black and white to color... age changes... document changes... photo effects of many sorts... before and after uses... think utility... vs effect centerpiece. Twofaced sells quite well and I will try to ask a few customers for other use feedback and post it...

Thanks guys for your assistance! at the moment I'm using enlargements of the photos that come with Jamie Badman's "Legacy" where the card is hidden and then revealed - but, as I alluded to earlier, it's too 'magical.'
I'm going to explore Mark Reed's excellent suggestion above "black and white to color" (though I'm sure he means colour ) Thanks Mark. |

Roger,
I may be wrong, but you seem to be searching through marketed effects to see how Two-Faced can fit in. I suggest you think of "effect" first. Then see how the prop can be used in one way or another. Richard |

Hi Richard - Thanks for stopping by. Nice to hear from the creator. Yeah, you were wrong really - although reading back, it looks like I may have given that impression. I was actually trying to steer away from marketted effects hence my initial poser. I just came to a blank really although I'm now working around the creation of colour in the mind as suggested by Mark above. By the way, its a first class prop!

Thanks for that, Roger. I actually have a new book coming out soon that features a routine using the prop.
You might also want to think along the lines of 2 similar pictures that apparently show 2 spectators the same one, but they each get different "impressions" from it. Richard |

Thanks Richard! That typifies why you are who you are and why I'm still an amateur! Brilliant thinking and yet, so simple. I'm looking forward to your book. Where can I obtain details?
