Folks,
I received a set of cups and balls as a gift but I did not receive a bag. I post to see if anyone has any tips on where to find the larger and longer draw string bag typically required for three cups. Checked a couple online places and only can find a 3"x4" drawstring which won't unfortunately work.

I would like to work on the routine in "The Magic of Michael Ammar", but you start by removing the cups from the bag. The cups themselves are 3" wide at the lip and approximately 2 3/4" tall.

Big thanks in advance as always for your help and Happy Thanksgiving,
Mike

I have found that bags that are made to hold Wine bottles work quite well. I picked some up at my local liquor store.

Crown Royal comes in a nice bag. All that you have to do is add ice.

Try here as well.

Frank has some VERY nice bags.
After much soul searching about a signature, I decided not to have one.

Excellent ideas. Didn't think out of the box (bag) on this one.

I may get the Crown Royal as well...yeah sure, for the bag.

Thanks all.

I bought myself a Sewing Machine and taught myself how to make my own bags. You can go to your local fabric store and pick the fabric that fits your wild imagination.

Or you could find a lady friend that already has a sewing machine and have her make you a bag, and present her the fabrics of your choice.

Take notice that many of the guys here have Wives that make things for them, such as Jake from RNT whose wife makes the crochet balls and the bags.

Have fun.

Don't know if this will fit the bill but there are many decrotive-holiday-seasonal SOCKS out there. I found some cool holloween socks, but I am kicking myself for not getting some.

If it fits who you are or your act...maybe its a possibility to hold your cups.

Chalk bags - the kind the rock climbers use work great to use as cup bags. They come in some cool designs but be prepared to pay through the nose for them. I have carried my charlie miller cups in a chalk bag for almost two decades.
God's grace rocks! It makes a good cups and balls routine look pretty boring in comparison.

If you have a Ikea in your area check them out they were selling drawstring bags in assorted colors for $2.99. If you catch them when they are on sale you can get them for a $1.00.

I haven't seen any at our local IKEA store. I was there last Saturday. I'm always looking for C&B related material.

I found some at Wal Mart a few years back.

I make my own bags. It's not difficult with a sewing machine and is the cheapest way to get bags that fit your cups. Jim Riser has some great tips on making bags - you might consider e-mailing him via his website http://www.jamesriser.com

If you'd rather buy bags, I have a couple of other suggestions.
I've bought a variety of bags from this company, which are very nice:

For smaller sets of cups, dice bags work well. I've bought a couple of leather and suede bags which look really good. Larger dice bags can easily accommodate a regular-sized set of cups:

Good luck

I have six locks on my door all in a row. When I go out, I only lock every other one. I figure no matter how long somebody stands there picking the locks, they are always locking three. Elayne Boosler

My wifes B day is next week and Xmas is around the corner so I was thrilled when she told me that a sewing machine was something she'd like as a gift (her old one died manyyyy years ago)! Back when we were first married and quite broke we sold almonds in bulk to make extra cash. My wife came up with the idea to make cloth gift bags to hold 1-3 lbs of nuts and we made a bundle! Draw string bags are a snap to make and the fabric to choose from these days in endless!

B.Dalton and Barnes and Noble sell Tarot bags which work very nice for cups. Some of them come with a Pentagram on them.

Here are two of the links Richard Evans mentioned:

http://www.jamesriser.com/Magic/SmallBags/Instructions.html

http://www.jamesriser.com/Drawstring/Bag2.html

The author uses fabrics which do not fray on the raw edges. If fraying fabrics are to be used, he suggests sewing the side seams with a serger. He has a few more pages (or did) on making fancier bags but I can not quickly find them in my bookmarks. The above two bags should work well for cups.

Thanks for reminding me of those links. The pattern is simple & easy to do - but makes very practical bags that look great.

There are a couple of old camera stores in Houston. I check them about once a month to see if they have any lens bags. Those work quite well. A couple of weeks ago, I found a wonderful Nikon lens case that would be perfect for a set of VanDokkum chick cups.
