Bill- how do you keep Alberich from trying to steal them= watch out for the Norns and Don't open the door to a one eyed man. BTW did you wash them with the Rhein and avoid the curse?

Only on the Café, amidst a discussion of cups for a magic trick can one be led into a discussion of Wagner. I blame the hobbit poop.

I have the silver engraved cups, and am now thinking I made a mistake. I should have purchased the gold/silver cups. Those were originally the ones I was going to purchase, but talked myself out of it!
Oh, well. Not a bad 'problem' to have, I suppose! I may end up seeing a trade with someone, who knows.

Nope, not a bad problem at all! Personally I think the silver only are as classy as it gets and for me the gold turns em into a show piece only!
One day I will run across a set of silver engraved, will have the discretionary cash on hand and all with be right in my world! |

I owned an all-gold set once. personally, I loved the golden interior (well, the bright silver interior is beautiful, too!), but just preferred the silver exterior.
Of course, all of this is no more than personal taste. All choices here are good!

It was still a ton more than I should spend on a set of cups but it was less than the brand new price. I took about 2 seconds to decide to buy them and they are awesome. So awesome of course that I am hesitant to use them and instead just admire them mostly. I have no regrets in buying them and I don't intend to let'em go. I do hope you find your deal too! They are tops! Anyway I finally decided to purchase a Sherwood set of cups to actually use and ordered a set of the copper engraved cups. They just arrived today. Wow. Just as beautiful as the silver engraved. But I intend for these beautiful cups to be my workers. Thank you Brett! |

One thing I am confused about, the Sherwood silver engraved are supposed to be limited edition. Is he ever going to make more or what?

They are a limited edition of 100 sets. He has not made 100 sets yet. If the price of silver and the labor comes down, he may make some more.

I still prefer the smooth (non-engraved) silver sets that were issued by Brent Sherwood a while back (long since sold out). There were three limited editions of 10 sets each. Thus these are a lot rarer than the engraved silver sets. I especially cherish my set of Sherwood sterling silver cups with gold wash interior (no.8 of 10). The gold interiors remind me of the old chalices we Catholic altar boys grew up staring into.
Great cups.........as serviceable as they are works of art. Fortasse |

If I get another government stimulus check...I'm getting a Sherwood set!! screw the economy. Cup makers must survive the coming recession for the sake of all that is magic!

That's correct. There is a limit of 1000 sets of the engraved silver cups.
