I wonder whether, if 2-5 were more similar to 1 and 6, 1 and 6 might be seen as more tedious than they currently are?
My ex-cat was named "Muffin". "Vomit" would be a better name for her. AKA "The Evil Ball of Fur".

The sequels (until the last one) weren't as good because they were just the predictable, impossible, Cinderella fairy tale endings. The original Rocky is pure Hemingway - grace in defeat, redemption through effort despite the result, winning through losing, but not giving up. The others are entertaining, but ultimately kids' stories. Rocky might as well be The Old Man and The Sea: "I busted my ass and almost got a fish, but I didn't." Simple? Most of the best stories are; there's a reason that one got Hemingway a Nobel prize. I enjoyed all of the Rocky movies; I like Stallone, and I like boxing. I even interviewed Joey Barnum, the (alleged...in the lawsuit) inspiration for Rocky 5. But it's that first one that transcends boxing. That appeals to anyone who's every worked and sacrificed and wanted something more than anything else in the world...and just barely didn't get it. That's brutal, and it's a universal brutality.
Not that seeing a glittered-up Carl Weathers rocking out to James Brown doesn't come close.
"Torture doesn't work" lol
Guess they forgot to tell Bill Buckley. "...as we reason and love, we are able to hope. And hope enables us to resist those things that would enslave us." |

They were all great, except for the fact that I refuse to admit that number 5 was ever made. Im still not sure why they skipped 5 and went to 6.

All of em but #1 best! The street brawl with Tommy was great and the last one tugged at my heart strings a bit! Bridget Nielson (sp) was purdy dang hot back before she fell for Flava Flave and took part in ALL the reality shows!

I liked the one where you find out he doesn't have any bones, just a spring.

The first one and the last one. Both exceptionally good movies. Just like the Rambo series. The first one and the last one. Skip the ones in the middle.
I want to see Rocky vs. Rambo. Or Son of Rocky. Or Son of Rocky vs. Son of Rambo. But that's just me.
Will you walk into my parlour? said the Spider to the Fly,
Tis the prettiest little parlour that ever you did spy; The way into my parlour is up a winding stair, And I've a many curious things to show when you are there. Oh no, no, said the little Fly, to ask me is in vain, For who goes up your winding stair -can ne'er come down again. |

How about "Rocky vs. Ghidorah", or "Rocky vs. The Smog Monster"?
Save the earth.... Save the earth...!

None of 'em. I resent being manipulated quite so transparently ("15 seconds ... ten ... five ... CHEER!")
