As for the remark that No Slash = No GnR ... I think most people who follow the bad realize that Axl and Axl alone = GnR. The rest of the band were always just adjuncts.

C'mon, man - bands are pretty much always a symbiosis of creative talents. Maybe Axl was your fav, but there's no getting around the fact that a different lineup never would have made Appetite. I'm a huge Beatles fan, but the whole "was it Lennon or McCartney?" debate can be answered by the fact that everything they did subsequently on their own was mediocre at best. Sometimes you just have to mix the chemicals to get the reaction. Same with Van Halen/Roth.

There's always Appetite for Destruction, great GNR tribute band. I saw them last night for the second time.

I was surprised to hear them open the show by playing the soundtrack of Chinese Democracy, it sounded really good standing directly in front of a wall of speakers; until then I had only heard it on my tiny computer speakers.

I think they play better than the real GNR did when I saw them 15 years ago. Of course ... when I saw the real GNR, the roadies had Slash propped up against a speaker rack cause he kept nodding off from the heroin, while Axle pretended to sing with his laryngitis.

First songs intro sounds a lot like the 90210 intro

So Britney Spears has a new album and the press proclaims it a major success, "her big comeback". Axle Rose has a new album, and the press calls it a "monumental failure".

What I find amazing about this is that GNR actually outsold Britney! Gotta love the press huh?

I thought the new G&R album was pretty weak.

The new Metallica album on the other hand, 10 / 10!!

Honestly ... it sounds like every other AC/DC album. All their music sounds the same. Sounds good yes, but always the same.

I thought Pinks new album was great.

As for our friends Guns and Roses I heard a couple tracks and liked it.

I'm a big Pink fan. Did she put Me and Bobby McGee on that album? She should have - she tears that song apart like you can't imagine. YouTube it - the guy playing guitar with her is the bomb.

Madagascar, This I Love, and IRS. My favorite tracks from Democracy.

No, her new album is all about her break up with the ol' husband and she goes from angry to upset. I never heard her before and was very impressed.
