I just got a set of these balls from Josh. Very, very nice. Easy to work with. Some moves require a bit of practice, but that's the nature of the cups and balls.

They're available now and I just tested the balls with the elevator move and can't tell the difference between them and the round balls. I do use the elevator move and won't be one bit nervous about using the square balls at all. In fact the elevator move with the square balls is still far easier than with leather monkeyfist balls.
The other moves are also equally just as easy with the square balls. 3 can stack on top of a Johnson Products cup which has a small and deep saddle. The elevator move works well even on that cup. A JP cup also fits right over the 3 ball display with no problem in the attic. So there you have it. Josh's Square Balls. Ready to be wrapped for your enjoyment.

Thanks Bill, and Frank. I hope they will fill a niche.
Magic is doing improbable things with odd items that, under normal circumstances, would be unnessecary and quite often undesirable.

I received set as well. They're very cool. It's super easy to do the Vernon 3 ball routine with them.
You can do any C&B move from Vernon or Wilson with them. They roll enough when you kick them out of a cup, but stay still otherwise. I do miss the homo-erotic innuendo though. Playing with, washing and holding "Josh's cubes" is not nearly as funny. I'm still not sure how to introduce them. Whether they are woven or crocheted, a ball is a ball. What do we call these things?

Orb - ball: an object with a spherical shape
wordnet.princeton.edu/perl/webwn Too bad. "I like playing with, washing and holding Josh's orbs.", has a nice ring to it. Quote:

Very funny Magnus.
Since I use the foam hotdog string in my act because of my name "frank" I can now add the balls and be "Sponge Frank, Square Balls". Hmm... I think I like this idea Magnus.

I just used these yesterday. Fun to use and certainly got some funny reactions.
When I take the 4 square balls and roll them on my dining room table they roll about 8 inches and stopped. Round balls rolled in a similar fashion would have rolled all the way of the table.

No. I did not. I have to "work it in" properly. I didn't use the sponge hotdogs yesterday so it would not have made sense.

Will these stack? I don't know too much about dice stacking routines but could you do a dice stack showing three of the cubes? I think that would be a nice mix for a cups routine. Cups and dice

What to call them?
How about "Josh's Jewels"? Or, that could be the name of the effect you use them for.
My ex-cat was named "Muffin". "Vomit" would be a better name for her. AKA "The Evil Ball of Fur".
