We still have people around who don't understand how words reflect upon the speaker/writer and so need not offend anyone else.

With all my word knowledge, I have sought over the years for a consensus on the precise definition of "blasphemy", and if you scour the internet, you will find a hundred different definitions/explanations of what blasphemy actually is. (Biblically speaking, blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is called the the one UNPARDONABLE sin. But just exactly WHAT IS IT? How does one know when they have committed this unpardonable sin? As I said, you can scour the web and pick and choose your final answer.
So the UN is now going to step in and settle the question with an "authoritative" definition of the word blasphemy? Good luck to them. I'm glad they are so much smarter than the rest of us.

Ugh. And this is just the tip of the iceberg.
Kudos to Australia, who a few years ago halted an attempt my Muslims there to allow Sharia law there. Australia essentially said, "This is Australia. We have our own laws, thank you very much. End of discussion."

"Muslim countries insist they are trying to cut down of what they see as bias against Islam in the West."
Gee, I wonder why the bias exist in the West.

Higley's definition of Blasphemy: A single word supression of progressive ideas. An end to discussion and protection against creative thought. The engine that drives power amongst an elite class. The 'knowing' of a fact can eliminate the 'belief' in a falsely offered premise. A shield against having to THINK.

Nobody in their right mind thinks that the KKK or the IRA are representative of Christianity, or that the Tamil Tigers are representative of Buddhism. Somehow many people in the West (including some posters here) are prepared to declare all Muslims terrorists. Odd and disturbing. John

They are one of the world's most notorious terrorist groups. You are right I got my facts backwards on that one. Fortunately, the main point remains intact. The religion of Tamil Tigers isn't part of the news story in the west, and nobody pretends that they are generally representative of any religious group. John
