Hi Everyone,
Currently I’m residing in Toronto and found out that browser’s den has a free magic club every first Saturday. Does anyone know of a local club in Waterloo? I’m not that keen on going to the Waterloo IBM yet as I’m very new- and thought I should start with a shop’s local club. Your thoughts? |

Phil and gang at KW Magic in Waterloo (look for Kind of Magic when doing a search)are very friendly and you will often see magicians of different abilities and experience hanging out and shopping. The shop also has some special events, like a Battle of the Magicians. If you are in the area, it is worth a visit.

Hi guys, thanks for the reply- y'know what, I've been there. Went looking for something to learn with and they showed the 3 card monte on me haha. I'll take a look next time I'm in town again. Thanks for the help! You guys wouldn't be also in the area would you?

I am. I go to Kind of Magic all the time. Usually 2-3 times a week, both to shop and to hang out. Good people there....

I'd go there more often if I had the ability too... it's a nice, cozy little shop with very friendly magi to speak to. I go back for the BOOM whenever it is held though!

Hi Michael,
What's the boom? Maybe I can make it out for that one too. Do you guys who go there often see students from WLU or UW? I'd be interested in chatting with them too. |

I'm curious why you would join the Waterloo IBM ring, when the Toronto one's right here
They meet the first Thursday of every month. Morrissey's is a great place to hang out too. They are awesome magicians, people, and confidants (Dufferin, North of Eglinton @ Castlefield) Try and split your time between both Browser's and M's. They don't have a 'rivalry', despite being the only two shops in town... and life without ALL these inspirational people, just ain't right Best, Anastasia |

I didn't think Waterloo had an IBM ring - I know Kitchener does.

Kitchener does have an IBM ring, and its not worth attending. sure its fun to watch bad magic from time to time, but not EVERY time. if you are in Toronto just chill at browsers, so much selection. huge book selection, can't go wrong. and the magicians there are better than any other shop I've been to.

Brett,
Browsers is a fine store, definitely a positive place to shop, and Jeff is a good guy. But, there are a lot of very good magicians that shop at KW and Morrisseys as well as Browsers. All three shops have friendly and helpful staff and a wide range of clients from the just curious to the pros. |

RJE,
I'm am aware that the others have good magicians, I guess what I said may have come out wrong. I do enjoy browsers and kind of magic but personally I've had a not so great experience with morrissey. I am going to go there again, but not just yet. by the magicians there are better I meant that I have seen more pro's there than any other shop (like lee asher, tyler wilson, etc) and also that these guys are friends. I can see how that came out wrong. all shops do have good selection, but for me being a book person, I prefer browser's to the others, but for dvd's and other things I always hit up kind of magic. |

I'm saying that what I have seen there is far from impressive by any standards. bad jokes, worse then usual for magi. good people but just bad magic and a lack of knowledge. the resident "card guy" is half decent at best. all I'm saying. and the name means nothing.
