I recieved mine saturday and I am in love with the routines. They are very well thought out and are true workers, just like all of Craig's work. It is so nice that the gaffs are included. A two hour dvd, bonus effects, easter egg and gaffs to go along with it is worth more than 30 dollars. I am very happy with my purchase and I recommend it to anyone who likes card magic or likes doing gaff work.

All of the Blank preorders were sent the same day as Nico. So if he has received it in time then something else is the cause. PM me if it dosnt arrive by Monday and I can investigate when I get back in the office.

I was lecturing at a society last night and I was covering some of the material on Blank. At the end of the lecture there was a rush to get copies of the DVD and everyone was saying the same as you - all that material plus all the gaffed cards for the price we are charging is crazy. The reason is myself and World Magic Shop really wanted to ensure everyone felt they were getting good value for money. Its true we could have put many of the routines out as single tricks (Misprint and Wild Blank were very popular at the lecture) but doing it this way gives everyone a chance to learn and perform the routines they feel most drawn to. If anyone else has any other comments on the DVD or the material, I would love to hear your thoughts Thanks again Nico Craig |

Well tonight at the New Years party I performed Mistique(I love this routine), Misprint and Face Off(another favorite)
Mistique is such a great trick. People just don't understand how you get 4 copies of their card. At the end, they really start to freak out because all of the sudden they remember that you placed their card in your pocket earlier and when you reveal it, it is a priceless reaction. Face off. . .what can I say about this. It is another GREAT routine. The cleanliness of it is amazing. They examine the three blank cards and at the end, they have the face of their signed card fused with the back of one of the blank cards (signed) and the best part is, the blank packet NEVER contacts the deck. The three cards are left of the table spread throughout the whole performance which really makes this trick a magician fooler. To me, these two tricks are worth the price of the DVD alone. Craig really gives you a great value on not just this DVD but all of his DVDs. Again, I highly recommend it. Nico Also, I should add that I also like Wipeout, the bonus effect, very much. I am one for color changes and especially morphing decks blank. Thoughtless was my previous favorite blank deck routine but I have to say this one takes the lead. It is so easy to do and the reset is not bad at all. |

Well my head is still a bit woozy from last night! I worked for about an hour, and performed a split coin routine (details elsewhere), and misprint.
Misprint went down very strongly (with revised patter based on a magician I was working with - he changed the cards for me, but I couldn't pay, so he turned them back to blank..). A truely excellent visual in the hands packet trick. Next job I'll try 'face off' and a shortened 'speed camera cards'. Top material with strong appeal. |

Puggo and Nico.
I love hearing performing stories from people that are trying out my material. It sounds like this stuff is going great for you and that's wonderful. Nico, I have been performing Mistique as a follow on routine to Ambitious Card which was something that was suggested by Adam Hince. This works great as a Pseudo explanation for thecard coming to the top and really engages the spectators. You might want to try it out in this context and let me know how it goes. As for Wipeout the amount of emails I have had about that routine. It seems to be everyone's favourite and a lot of people have asked if it ever going to be made available as a stand alone effect. I am just glad everyone likes it so much. Puggo. I am glad you are getting on well with Misprint, I have been performing that routine so long now and it always gets great reactions. Regarding Speed Camera Cards, I agree it is a long routine and depending on the situation sometimes I shorten the routine as well it just depends on where I am and how long I have. The best way to learn the routine is to pick your favourite phase and learn that first and then learn another one and so on. The routine is structured so that it can stop after any phase and still come across really strong. I work a lot of restaurants and this (to me) is important. With this routine someone new can come into the trick in mid performance and it will only be a few seconds till they see a magical moment. Anyway, thanks for the kind words guys and if I can help just let me know Craig |

Hey Alan
Thanks for the kind words man. For someone that has released as much KILLER material as you to give the DVD a thumbs up means a lot. Let me know how you get on with the material. Nico, I haven't left the house without a wallet full of blank cards for years. Let the Blank card revolution begin. No longer will magicians appear in public with a regular pack of cards. From now on let them all carry blank backers and facers and double blanks. Spread the word - Blank cards are here to stay!!!!!!!!!!! |

I have a question for Mr. Petty:
I've watched the demo video and have noticed that the first effect shown on the demo video, you go through a flustration count sequence 3 times (each time I believe it's 3 shows, so 3 x's 3 is 9 shows in total, very slow shows at that). Does nobody pick up after that first series of flustration counts? It was basically the only thing that has kept me from looking further into picking up the Blank! DVD. I kind of cringed when I saw that and it has put me off from purchasing it because if the rest of the material has such apparently flawed approaches, that would not have been good (of course I may be totally off here and that the flustrations you've performed actually does very surprisingly fly right by your audience). |

I perform Misprint all the time and I don't get caught at all. If you think you will get caught or that the routine isn't for you, there is only one other trick that uses a flustration which is an absolutely great effect. So don't let that one routine stop you from buying blank. There is a plethora of knowledge on there.

I have been performing this routine for years (at least 10 years) and therefore I have had a lot of opportunities to assess the feedback from laypeople. Normally I would agree that performing the same move over and over again is never good practice however for this routine it just works. I never thought it would when I first tried it but it does work and always gets a great response. I thought long and hard about including the trick on this DVD for the same reason that you mentioned - magicians would look at the routine and not try it. But I decided to include the routine and I have a lot of feedback from people saying a similar thing as Nico - the effect works really well. You have to understand in the real world (and on the performance to spectators on the DVD) the routine is handled differently. The counts are not done slowly and I am turning to various people, chatting and paying no attention to the cards as I perform the actions. Performing the effect to a camera I had to do everything slowly so that everyone could see what was going on. One thing I have tried to do with my trailers is show everyone exactly what they are getting - no camera edits or cut outs. The bottom line is if you saw the performance to real people I think you would think differently about the routine. Of course the option is there to change the flustration count. The first time you could perform the flushtration count, the second time a Rumba count and the final time an Omega count. The option is there to take this route instead. However, as Nico said, there is only one other effect on the DVD (out of 10) that uses a Flustration Count and in that routine it is used once as a convincer. What has been great about this DVD is that different people have different favourite routines. If you don't like misprint there are another 9 routines you can choose from. The routines are so varied I am sure that there is something on the DVD for everyone. If you do pick up the DVD let me know what you think and if you ever see me at a convention or a lecture come over and say hi and I would be only too happy to go through all the routines on the DVD. Anyway, thanks for your interest Craig |
