I don't want to get controversial here but Mr Spelmann once sneaked into my hotel room and sexually molested me for an hour and a half.... Really annoyed Amber!

Marc, loved the clip. It was obvious that Amber was a confident young lady so could take the heat.
A lot of people like to play things super safe, maybe it's my youth but I like to be a lot more edgy than that. Taking risks means we can reap the rewards and of course makes it a lot more exciting. I don't want to do safe mentalism, I want to take risks and push the envelope that way we uncover incredible things! Speak soon mate! Ken

The basic tool for the manipulation of reality is the manipulation of words. If you can control the meaning of words, you can control the people who must use the words.

People seem to be under some sort of mistaken belief that they have a right NOT to be offended.
I'm at a loss, becuase I'm such a BBC lover, yet they've shown themselves to be so spineless in the whole debacle. *** Daily Mail readers.

Since you raised the issue Davit, I loved the 'controversy' over John Barrowman exposing himself on Annie Mac's BBC programme. The papers complained, the BBC apologised and Barrowman himself had to make a heartfelt apology for the awful offence he had caused.
Here's the thing: Annie Mac's programme is on the radio. He 'exposed' himself on the radio. An audio medium, where no-one can see. Essentially the radio team all started laughing and said "He's got his tackle out" and that is him exposing himself to the nation. We can survive thousands of years of invasions, the fall of the empire, two world wars, blitzkrieg, the IRA, race riots and the demolition of our industry, but if a fruity man says that he is getting his wang out on the radio, that is a bridge too far. It drives me up the wall! Everyone who thinks Spelmann crossed the line can ***** *** ***** * *** and **** *** * **** ***** *** your *****. Good old censorship! It really does stop us from thinking bad thoughts. |

But there is another issue here right?
Andrew Sachs had the right not too be offended live on radio. After he said that he would not be happy with it going out on radio. The 2 big heads [and the producer who had to resign] put it out anyway! Their hugh wages are paid for by the BBC license fee.

Andrew Sachs doesn't have the right not to be offended.
Where did this opinion that one has a RIGHT not to be offended come from? It was funny. Go listen to the phone call... it was hilarious! The BBC are fulfilling their mandate to entertain. Pushing the envelope at the same time in a way that probably wouldn't be possible in a commercial context. The piece was broadcast post watershed, on the Russel Brand show. Knowing Russel Brand, no matter what your background, he's bound to say at least something per night that one can find offensive. Don't listen to the show. Was Andrew Sachs offended? Maybe... but I don't really care. People get offended all the time for all sorts of stuff. People are offended by language, offended by blasphemy, offended by X, offended by Y. TOUGH LUCK. I get offended when people blaspheme against Hercules. Does the license fee payer have a right not to be offended by all of the BBCs output? No.

But the license fee payer [ie.us!] do have a right to say where the money goes and if enough people [around 70,000 I think] complain about how their money is spent then it is tough luck on the people involved who lost earnings or their jobs.If I am offended by something at least I can complain.I may not have the right but at least I can complain.

I believe there were a few complaints after the show. Around 5 or 6 or similarly minuscule number if I remember correctly. The vast majority of those complaints came in the following days when the 'cause' was championed by the Daily Fail.
Now if 70,000 complained out of 500,000 actual listeners, it MIGHT be worth thinking about doing something about. 70,000 out for 65 million, the majority of which didn't even hear the show... They are offended by something they didn't hear? TOUGH LUCK. Herd mentality.

I once seen Ken Dyne stroke the faces of the entire front row... wasn't even his show!
Marc, you clearly know how to gauge an audience and get the most out of an effect! Rock on! Col. X

Can any one tell me what has Marc Spelmann's Isolation clip got to do with the likes of Russel Brand, Jonathan Ross and John Barrowman exposing himself?
Have we just crossed over into the Twilight Zone? I only wanted to know if Marc is going to release Isolation? And if so sooner than later. Franklin |

Hi Franklin,
I think the cross over came as a result of a few members on the Café being offended by a few of my actions and words during the performance. This then went onto media events where people have been offended rightly or wrongly by jokes or humor. I currently don't have plans to release 'Isolation' as we have about 10 other projects that are being filmed, written etc. No doubt it will surface at some point, maybe as a limited release but we don't have plans for it yet. The Vegas Project which has my lecture from Mindvention will be released in the new year will have my entire lecture on it which consists of various routines and principles such as an ungaffed book test principle I use in my current shows, my time routine, a chair test that is super easy and very direct along with my reverse bank night effect called PVP. I'll post up a complete listing once we know what order everything is going to be in. Peter Nardi has a wonderful routine on the DVD also called Mimmic as well as other routines and Looch has some great stuff that we couldn't fit onto his DVD set. One of which is a psychological game of Rock, Paper, Scissors.. I hope that helps Franklin.. Have a great Christmas and a prosperous New Year. MS

Great clip Marc, very slick and enjoyable...
You should take advantage of the side route this thread has taken and post an offensive message to the grandfather of the volunteer. Then everyone can write to the Daily Mail and you'll be an overnight success! Hurrah!

Colin,
You're only writing about it here because you were sitting in the second row and no amount of leaning forward was going to get a stroke from yours truly. Giving someone a stroke - now there is an improvement on the pulse stop! I'll reserve the rights on that - your favorite stroker

I rest my case... I think Kennedy just summed up the level he likes to play on .
Col. PS: Kennedy, I wasn't aware you'd done a gig that warranted a second row? Much love!
