Do any of you know of a timer for 120VAC that can be placed in-line with a lamp or other device, and activated by turning on the device at the end of the circuit? For example, I would like to be able to turn on an ordinary lamp onstage via the lamp switch and have the resulting current flow activate the timer so that the lamp goes out after a preset interval.
Things are more like they are today than they've ever been before...

How much of a delay between time on and off? They do sell timers at Home Depot but I beleive you can only set them at 1/2 hour intervals. If your looking for a delay in seconds or minutes it can be done with a time delay relay. This could be built into the lamp (depending on the size of the lamp) so it looks ordinary.
