Please post your favorite story from your IBM Rings holiday party if your IBM Ring has one. There are always funny stories to tell when a group of magicians get together.

We had a potluck where members brought different dishes based on their last name, i.e. A-M brings main dishes, N-S brings side dish, etc. To our surprise, you member
brought 5 very small cartons of frozen solid orange juice.

Its sad really,

At our last holiday get together. I recieved a great magic poster tie. This tie was also being worn by the person MC'ing the party. We both posed for a picture. An audience member remarked that Daves tie (the other guy) was hanging lower than mine. I fied off my one liner. "Don't worry, when I get to be Daves age mine will hang lower too". The entire party howled!

I just joined Ring 60 and our Christmas show is on Jan. 18.
Chet Atkins, Jerry Reed and Tommy Emmanuel are all you need to study to learn to play guitar.

Our party is tonight. I might jump in the swimming pool, if it isn't too frozen. -J.R.

One of the gifts for our White Elephant gift exchange was a copy of "Magic for Dummies" which I had gotten on the recommendation of the local magic shop owner, as I value his opinion highly. I also happen to have this book and consider it an excellent resource.

At any rate, one of the last people in the group to select a gift opened this one. You would NOT believe the look of consternation on his face at getting it. You could have made lemonade just from that look! It was not until after several other magicians told him that the book had some excellent material in it that he finally calmed down enough to look at it in detail. Smile

We conducted out yearly White Elephant Gift Exchange. This year one of the first gifts opened was a nice one......so the guy who gets it is telling everyone how nice it was.

While he was telling everyone how nice it was he forgot that anyone after him could steal that gift away from him......so an hour later his gift had been stolen by three magicians. Once a gift has been stolen three times the rule was is was a dead gift, not to be stolen again.

He and others that night no longer boasted about how nice there gifts were...in fact I found them hiding them so they would be soon forgotten.

But I made a list since I was one of the last to get a gift.....needless to say I got what I wanted.

The "Tony Marks" Book written by our club member Bev. Bergeron. He autographed it for me.

I always have a blast at the Ring gift exchange.
