The Amazing Alexander
Written by Justin S. Meitz Illustrated by Matthew C. Jones I picked up this book the other day and found it to be very entertaining, and it sent me down memory lane of my own childhood. I was first drawn to the book because of the colorful illustrations. It looked like it would be a fun kids books about magic. I was right, but I found a lot more than I originally expected. The Amazing Alexander is a great book for kids to read, or for parents to read to their kids. I can see it being used in my Library programs. The book had a great story of a child who was just learning the art of magic, but the ethics and values he learned in his journey is something that never goes out of style. And get this, for $17.95 you not only received this greatly illustrated book, but you also got a free magic lesson on how to do the million dollar bill switch. That is a great non-gimmicked effect that teaches kids the true art of sleight of hand. The book is also clearly titled "The First Set", and inside there are statements that make it clear that the author intends to release a series of these books. I'm assuming that each new book in the series will contain a new and different magic trick. So if you have a passion to share the love of the art of magic with kids, I would highly recommend this book. It should definitely be on the shelves of all libraries, I would would recommend that it be on your shelf as well. I tracked down the author and got a copy personally signed for no extra cost. Check it out at: http://www.TheAmazingAlexander.com Until we appear again, Kipp Sherry |

Thanks Kip, for pointing this out. I had to get two. One is for my niece and nephew. The other is for me. Heh, heh, heh.
Nice book, Justin! Mark

I recently took advantage of a special that Justin recently offered here on the Café and ordered several copies to give as Christmas gifts. I was taking a bit of a chance because I hadn't read the book but was relying on the comments from some of the well known magicians. I also liked the pictures that I had seen.
The books arrived and I'm not dissapointed. It's a fun and interesting story and the illustrations are a great support to the story. I'll have to wait until after Christmas to get reviews from the children I've given them to. My only criticism is that the instructions for the million dollar bill switch could be clearer, but with some patience and adult help a determined child should be able to figure it out. |

Note that Justin will inscribe the book with YOUR provided inscription. This is ideal for a father, grandpa or favoirite uncle to use for thoughtful personalized gifts to that "special someone". In this age of mass-produced cookie-cutter gifts, this book is lovingly written and illustrated and the personalized inscriptions just make this a special and unique gift. I couldn't be happier (or more delighted) with the purchases. Mike

Hi everyone,
We have now cut our prices on Alexander to move 20 cases from our warehouse to make room for our new DVD DEEP! Single signed copies are available for $10 and our greatest bargain to date, is our bulk purchase. Many of our local magician friends have picked up copies of The Amazing Alexander and have given them out to the birthday child and sold them to parents. The book retails for $17.95, but we are selling them for only $5 a piece (Sold in a case of 40.) Yes you read that correctly! $5 DOLLARS A PIECE! That way you can resell them or just give them out as freebies. Even if you sold each book to parents for only $10 you would be making an extra $200!!! Many magicians have gotten multiple gigs just by giving out a book to the birthday child by making him or her feel special. Plus it teaches the ethics and love for magic, which many kids are missing when getting into magic. Both of these Amazing deals can only be picked up on http://www.justinmeitz.com

We have 3 cases that we are trying to move before we move to LA. I am putting this price at $160 per case. That's only $4 per book (40 Books.) You can give these out to the birthday kid or sell them to parents and librarians. PM me if your interested.
