No this is not that BORING cliche question...this is new and boring...
We serve and are served Steak and Eggs, Pork Chops and Eggs, Sausage and Eggs, Ham and eggs etc but never Chicken and Eggs...why is that? Overkill? Also recent discoveries have shown that the Chicken is the closest relative to the T-Rex. Talk about 'No respect'. bye.

If I remember the story correctly, the Paul Simon song Mother and Child Reunion came from the name of a dish at a Chinese restaurant that was made from egg and chicken.
If you can pull it off in a biker bar without being violated by a corn dog, more power to you.

By golly Doug is right! The closest I ever found was chicken fried steak and eggs, which is a salute to he mighty chicken but still is a chunk of bovine. I've seen chicken and waffles, chicken and speghetti...but never with just a pair o' fried eggs done greasy!
While at it I'd like to protest the cooks on the West Coast who took Gods gift to the people, Southern Milk Gravy, and completely screwed it up by making it gray and mixed with chunks of sausage....what is wrong with you sick cooks? |

Well, I just checked my facts and it looks like I was right about Paul Simon.
Not Chinese, but here is another Mother and Child Reunion recipe.

Doug, you might become a philosopher yet.
In all my studies, in all my travels, in all my incarnations, I have never heard this question before. Vandy's answer, I suspect, is the right one. But it's hard to say, having never heard the question before. |

That is very cool about the song. I love genius cuz I ain't got it. Billy Joel, who I think is a genius, said he was stumped for a song, blocked I guess, when he went to a restraunt and the guy said "Bottle of red? Bottle of white? Which wine will it be tonight?" and it became that song that begins "Bottle of red....bottle of white...."

I was in a Thai restaurant this evening, I noticed that 'chicken with quail eggs' in some sort of curry was an item on the menu.

Oh I've seen 'em, they think they are sitting by a river someplace. My favorite chinese restaurant story was in Milpitas, Ca. a number of years ago. There is a flood control/irigation canal behind the place and for greens the cooks would send busboys down and just hack down weeds and chop them up and toss 'em in for color! I love that stuff!

Hey! I dip chicken into an egg bath then bread crumbs and fry that sucker up.
I'm surprised the wine steward hasn't shown up with a lawyer demanding writing credits and pay. |

Anyone read an actual paper on newsprint today?
Today's Bizarro cartoon featured a hen (wearing a dress and apron) serving a 'rooster' (wearing a business suit) a plate of eggs at the breakfast table. The 'rooster' (looks like another hen, to be frank) says: "Eggs again?" I can't post a link to it, as the on-line Bizarro comic is about a month behind what appears in newsprint. But if you remember, look here in early January: http://www.kingfeatures.com/features/com......bout.htm

It assumes too much to think that the eggs came from the same chicken being served Michael. It would be more akin to when Babs Streisand takes her weekly bath the blood of virgins to keep her youthful glow. They aren't her kids, but they are someone's kids all the same.

Point taken, bitterman! Much like it assumes too much to think that the first and last bites of a hamburger moo'ed at the same time.
