The performer stands on stage with a long piece of rope aprox 6ft long. He ties one end to a stand ( Looks like a micrphone stand) and the other to another stand. Cuts the rope in the middle and ties it into a knot. Then proceeds to slide the knot. Wherever he stops he unties the knot to show that the actual cut in the rope appeared there. Continues on until the knot dissapears and the rope is whole again. Just wondering if anyone knows the name of this gimmick or routine?

IT IS!! Thank you. Does anyone know where I can find this routine for a reasonable price? Or is anyone willing to sell one they have?

I think Magic Ian has a version of it on his DVD. He's on here somewhere, try PMing "magicians".

The version I have on my DVD is not the same as Pavel's walking knot. My version is a non-gimmicked application of a cut and restored move that can be used to emulate the pavel routine.

If one end has dots on it it's called Pavel's "junior walking knot". Pavel will probibly sell you the instructions for it.
