I have seen the palmo, silk, and Nikko ball for sale online. I under stand what the effects are and what the gimmicks look like. Put the two together and figured out how to do the effects. So I make homemade ones although I am not sure how to secretly retreive them and show my hands supposedly empty and ditch them at the end of the trick. How do I do that it would save me the trouble of going online and ordering them just for the instructions it is much cheaper to use homemade ones?

If you go on youtube and check out color changing silks or sucker color changing silks, I am sure you could see someone's routine and follow how the gimmick is handled. I am not sure if it is written up in Rice Encyclopedia or Tarbell.

You'll find the instruction you're looking for in several books, including volume 2 of "The Encyclopedia of Silk Magic."

All three have different techniques for handling and their applications. Check out the Silk Encyclopedias. You might also want to look at some billard ball books for different methods of handling the balls.
There is a lot of literature in the Learned Pig Project on using the hank ball. You could benefit from learning the original handling of it and then expanding on it. The Nikko gimmick was invented by Harry Kellar. It is basically a Hank Ball on steriods with a new way of handling it. It basically does what a Hank Ball does. The palmo is more often used as dye tube. Again go to the written literature for the original handling and then expand. Duane Laflin makes a good video on it but I still like to read the original instructions to get more ideas. Richard

Laflin's videos are very good for learning the handleing and routining of effects w/hankball, etc. Take a look:

I've seen Ron Wilson's routine several times. Very clever , and direct. It's published in Richard Kaufman's "The Uncanny Scott- Ron Wilson"

Go to You-tube and search for Joe Monti's "Patriotic Magic". Its a pretty nice color changing silk routine. It appears he uses a TT for the color change. In fact I'm pretty sure he does use one.
