So I'm in the market to buy jump from john Kennedy. I own many other props from Mr Kennedy and I love his thinking behind everything he puts out. I have a friend who acquired jump though an estate he had purchase from the passing of a magician and I plan I buying this device.
my questions are is this any good for close up, outside, etc. sales jump and it reads that this is a new updated version.
can any kind soul shed some light on this for me, if I am going to buy jump I most definitely want the new version.

thanks for any help

I've owned Jump for a couple of years. It is a well made prop and has served me well. It requires prior setup and placement, and a little audience management- but the startling effect of massive movement with your hands out in the open is hard to beat. I use it as a PK effect in conjuction with telekentic timber, and have also used it to create spirit movement during a sceance. If there is an updated version- you should get it rather than a used one, but I can't see what there would be to update- it is nearly perfect as it is. Hope this has been helpful. If anyone out there has the new updated version- I would be curious as to what the newer version has to offer.

I AM SOOO FRUSTRATED! I just got JUMP! last week, and played with it about 5 times before the end "broke" off of the main unit. I just spent an hour trying to get it back together only to have it break again. If I didn't pay so much for it, it may have just JUMPED! into my trash can. I do love John Kennedy's magic, but this one is priced too high for such a frustrating device. If anyone can help me, please let me know . . .

I have one of the original versions. I never used it for close up. I actually use it on stage during my dancing hank act. I use the Great Leon's Haunted House during the act and at the end of the routine I use Jump to make the hank fly back into the house as I attempt to hank the hank to the spectator. Several performers off stage were caught off guard with this. One actually came over afterwards and asked to look at the house to see how it was done. I think it actually works better on stage (at least for me).

I like that one, Magic Man! Unfortunately, I only played and practiced with it, and never got to perform with it before it broke. I don't have enough patience to keep putting it back together, but I guess I'll try it again soon enough . . .

I have had the original for many years--nothing ever broke on it.

I owned it years ago. I never used it cause I never had any ideas. It was cool, well made and I sold it. Never had a problem with it though.
