I recently took a survey from the IBM and was surprised to see a question about them offering a health insurance program. So I called the IBM to find out more information and it turns out they are in the process. The IBM has a board meeting in January and health insurance is going to be something they discuss.
I'm curious, how many of you could benefit from a IBM health insurance program? As a full time pro I pay dearly every month for an individual policy. I would definitely appreciate a discounted group rate. I ask all of you who could benefit from a health insurance program from the IBM to go to the IBM website (magician.org) and email the board of directors and tell them that this is something that we could really benefit from. Thanks. |

Might be a very good thing if the coverage and price are right.

I would love to see health insurance. I take advantage of the magic insurance every year.
Currently, I have health insurance through my husband [a government employee] and it still costs us about S300 per month with a $300 deductable per person, per year. I would love to offer insurance to my cast and crew. That would be amazing! Maybe this would help us retain our assistants by offering such perks, IF the insurance can extend to our assistants, cast, and crew. Let's see what the IBM can do for us here. Autumn
Wonder is very necessary in life. When we're little kids, we're filled with wonder for the world - it's fascinating and miraculous. A lot of people lose that. They become cynical and jaded, especially in modern day society. Magic renews that wonder.

My day job is as a Life & Health agent. I could get a group plan for the IBM in a heartbeat.
I even called them about a year ago to propose it, but there wasn't much interest from them. |

I get a group rate with the chamber of commerce, but it would be nice to have a few more options available.

The I.B.M. did have a group health insurance plan in the past. I checked into it but it wasn't very competitive with what I had so I stuck with the same carrier. If they can get a good competitive plan, it would be great.

It wouldn't serve any purpose outside of the USA (the same applies to the IBM liability insurance), but if it helps our American members, then good luck!

The trick for them is to find an affordable and comprehensive policy that would draw in a large enough group.
