Dan Harlan is coming back in a big way. He will be lecturing from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. at the historic Haines House of Cards outside of Cincinnati, Ohio, (in Norwood).
The lecture will be in three parts: 1) Performance and explanation of his best effects spanning his career; 2) Discussion on creativity and show structure; and 3) Q&A with Dan. Dan's plan is to record the session and produce a DVD from it, so here's your chance to be part of something special. I live about four hours away and plan on being there. I had the opportunity to meet Dan in November, and he spent considerable time working on one of my effects to make it better. The way his magical mind works is amazing. Leland Pennington is helping Dan with the event and is handling registration. The cost is $30 (includes lunch). For more information, shoot Leland an e-mail at penningtonthewizard@yahoo.com. Bobby p.s. If I can be of any further help, PM me.

Don't miss an opportunity to see Dan and learn from him. His lecture was incredibly good and useful, not to mention entertaining. I'm glad to hear that he's finally going to record it - I'll buy the disk in a heartbeat.
Life is an improv. The game goes on...

Thanks Bobby,
If you plan to attend we would like for you to RSVP with Leland, we would like to have a good head count before we get to Haines. Also please bring any effect you are working on or would like to improve along with a note book to take notes. The workshop section is designed to go one on one with as many as Dan can to help improve handling's, slights and methods. Seating will be somewhat limited so get your reservations in soon. As Bobby has said this is not a normal lecture this is a 7 hour lecture/workshop/interview you will not want to miss. Hope to see you there. Thanks again Bobby. Floyd

As Bobby mentioned, we will be filming this event for a DVD release... and I'm thrilled to be returning to teaching magic in a big way! In fact, I'm hoping to line up more cities that can host events like this. If you are interested, just PM me and we can discuss details. I'd love to share my experience with you live and work one-on-one with the members of your home group.

Quick update about my upcoming appearance. I hope everyone is as excited about it as I am. As mentioned, we will be filming the event for an eventual DVD release.
Here's a quick break-down of the day's events: 10am -- Welcome and getting settled (The crew and I will already be set-up) 10:15 -- Audience warm-up 10:30 -- Harlan performs a full 45-minute show, featuring all of my A-list material! Short break for re-set 11:30 -- Complete explanation of everything in the show. 12:30 -- Lunch and sales 1:30 -- Harlan's Trilogy Method Workshop on creativity and routine structure where I will work with every participant on refining their ideas into professional, entertaining performances. 3:30 -- Break 4:00 -- Harlan Interview and audience Q&A. It promises to be a fun-filled and highly informative day! And... as I mentioned before, if you live in a city with an active magic group that would like to host a similar event, just PM me and we can discuss the details. --Dan Harlan |

This is going to be great! I met Dan briefly at the magic castle and in atlanta when I helped do a convention here called the Atlanta Harvest. Dan is a great teacher!!
Also Haines is a killer place to lecture. I have lectured there three times over the past 7 years and I LOVE IT!! The people are so much fun to be with. Have fun!! Ken |
