Ok, I feel really bad right now because I don't know much about Dai Vernon. I know a little from reading on Wikipedia about him, that he showed a card trick (sleight) the pass, I think, to Houdini and fooled him. He is also known as the "Professor".
A few questions. Did he release any magic books? Are there any biographies about him? I know his favorite book was Erdnase. What type of magic did he do? Did he do other types besides cards too? Why is he considered the 'god' of magic? |

He reads it ...
thinks about taking the bait.. then quietly walks away without even mentioning the search function... and waits for tomorrow to see what's on the hook.

My pleasure. I remember when I first started learning about Dai Vernon and to this day I love learning new things, hearing stories from folks that met him, etc.
Enjoy the journey!

The Dai Vernon biography by David Ben is splendidly fantastic... you'll love it.
I also have learned much from The Vernon Chronicles, fantastic stuff there.

'The Magician and the Cardsharp' by Karl Johnson is fascinating. Indexed as I wish more magic books would be. the paperback is (or at least was) available at chain discount bookstores.

Since nobody seemed to pick up on the thing about the search function, I'll do it.
If you go to the "Search" button in the upper right hand corner of the screen, click on it, and enter the term "Vernon" you will find many references. Among them is this one: http://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/viewt......orum=134
