Sorry to reopen this thread, but a friend was kind enough to send this scan from Todd Karr's book on Robert-Houdin. Shows the attached note in a bit more detail...

Wow. Nice one Lint. Thanks for posting. I was wondering about these wands today. Glad to see some movement here. I think Ray is holed up in the shop. Maybe he will check in and let us know how these are coming. Thanks again for the post.

Don't apologize! I was lurking in this thread while it was going strong and am utterly fascinated. I don't use wands, but have thought about it on and off, and as a burgeoning collector I am fascinated by wands and magic history.
I've learned a lot from eavesdropping in this thread. This is one of the things I love the most about the Café! |

I also thought about this again recently; Ray told me that he's going to try to get some of these done so that he can have them in Nashville at the IBM convention.

They would wait until I move to have the convention in Nashville. At least I was living near Baltimore when they had one there.

Just an update. Yes I am holed up in the shop. Trying to catch up on some tables and some stock to take to Nashville. Each wand will be individually turned. No computer machines for me as I can't afford them. Will make a template for them though so I get them all similar. Will have to options for the stands. Plastic like the one shown from the museum and the one I prefer, wood. Will get pics up in about a week depending on how long these tables take.

Tabby may not be a big "name" in magic, but he's seen and known a *lot* of magic, more than most of us. I can hardly wait to get my copy.

Tabman is a big name in magic, darn it! New book, designer of great tables and something of a huge musical career as well.

Todd, Got a little behind on some things so I had to put them on hold for a while. Will get them out as soon as I can.

I don't think ray has time for these. Any other wand spinners available to turn these out?

Hi All
While doing some background research I stumbled across this thread discussing the Robert Houdin wand. Essentially I received a newsletter from a dealer who is making a limited run of these wands...apparently they have the exact dimensions of the wand from the Houdin Museum in Blois. The wand is made from ebony with 0x bone tips. Have just ordered one and will let you know what is like. It might be of interest to you. regards Scott |

The Houdin Wand is ready and is being made in a limited run by Five of Hearts Magic.....just seen a photo before it goes in the mail. Looks great!

Thanks for the update Scott. I fear that since Five of Hearts has their grip on it, it will forever be out of my price range
