Wow... I can't tell if your being sarcastic or genuine Cory! LOL
You certainly have taken all the criticism like a champ though. BTW, Is that the butt-end of your dog in your profile pick? Or are my eyes just playing tricks on me? V.

Cory was being genuine in his thanks to Tom. Tom went above and beyond to give a detailed review and Cory, the classy guy he is, took it to heart!
Cory, we're looking forward to your new effects!

Cory,
I’m impressed and touched by the grace and class of your response to my reviews. It’s good to hear that you plan to devote more time and thought to your effects before you bring them to market. Slow down. There’s no hurry. You can PM me any time you like. But I will not do your research for you. That is my point. You have to do the research. If I, or anyone, hands you the information, you’ll miss out on the learning process. The process is more important than finding the answer. You must explore our magical history to learn about the prior work that has been done regarding the effect that you are considering publishing/selling. Without this information, you don’t stand a chance of creating good, innovative magic. The larger your magical knowledge base, the better qualified you are to judge your effect’s merit against what has come before. And of course, you consult with informed colleagues. You will become a knowledgeable magician. That attribute coupled with ongoing practice and performing for real people will make you a better magician. You benefit, your audience benefits, your fans/potential customers benefit and the art benefits. If you’re willing to put in the work, I wish you much success. And I’d still like to review the rest of your inventory. Thanks and good luck, Tom |

Tom,
Thanks for the sincere response. I have already re-worked 3 of my illusions, and added a new one. I will PM you about these 4. The Lord has given me the patience to respond to criticism in a constructive manor, also the wisdom to severely alter each affect to achieve even better "visuals" and using ZERO construction!

Cory,
I don't think that a dog tucking its tail between its legs is an appropriate profile icon for you at all. On the contrary, the way you have stuck around through all the verbal beat downs, and taken the constructive criticism and suggestions from Café members to heart shows the true measure of your character. I think everyone has now seen who your really are and what you are about. As I've said earlier in this thread, I've been along for the ride for a LONG time and I'm still riding along with you. I can't wait to see what is ahead for ASM, but like Tom said, don't be in a hurry. Take your time, learn and grow as a Magician, build your foundation, and do things right. We WILL be waiting for you when you get it together... Good Luck, Hank |

Tom Frame, so you're saying that Keystroke will not pass under the suspicion of laypeople? I thought that the method (from watching the demo) was easy to figure out but I thought that if done for a lay audience it would work. Of course extra handling would be needed to start clean and end clean (which I guess Cory never goes over in the instructions, I haven't seen that one yet). The one thing I liked about Keystroke (from watching the demo of course) is that you can borrow the keys and give them back as well. I never understood why anybody would want to borrow a key and bend it for real, don't we usually carry around keys that we actually need? Ha ha.

The store has been shut down for a couple weeks now, I will have a banner here when it is re-opens. I have simplified the methods for 3 effects, and added a new. I will be filming these soon. 5 Fingered and Hand to Hand will not be for sale(it takes one hour to construct the gimmicks). I will only put out effects that are fun to learn and perform. The method has to be better than the effect!

That... was... hilarious.
Do the T'n'R card video next! I really want to know if that's any good, it looks amazing to be perfectly honest but I only have the demo to base my view on. |

Cory does seem to be trying very hard. Its a shame that the inital lineup didn't go well for him. But it sounds like he's not giving up no matter what.
My only suggestion to Cory as of right now is to simply take some time and learn the art in which he's trying to sell products. Read a few books. Learn a little about theory. Learn some effects and go out and perform for people. And don't forget to WATCH some great magic performances. There are a number of sources that make this possible. Cory's already done a great job of listening to suggestions and trying to find out more about magic and the market. Just learn some basic slight of hand, Practice it, and go out and put it to use. You will learn more in a few months of doing that than you ever thought possible. THEN come back and take a look at what your trying to produce. All my best goes out to you and your family Cory. V.
