Well, I must be a youngster, too, because I've never heard of him before. And his act just blew me away! I ain't seen nothing like it. It's original and totally mystifying. The last bit with the sugar just killed me. Wow! That isn't in Tarbell.

He did a show at my college back in the mid-90's and I was left awestruck.
Everything in that clip you posted (and more) I saw live. One thing he did at his show was swallow a borrowed ring, a closed padlock, and the key (each separately of course). Up comes the lock with the ring locked on the padlock (followed shorty after by the key). Spectator had to use the key to get their ring back. UN-REAL.... |

Unfortunately, I guess the very last thing we ought to get into here at the Café is how he does it.
On the other hand, I don't want to know. I just loved that performance. |

UMMMMMMM, that's crazy.
side note: is a cue ball that much bigger than a standard billiard ball? has anyone heard of the (really nasty) bar bet with a cue ball?

No.
I've heard of a bar bet with 12 silver dollars, but not a cue ball. Let's hear it! |

It is a terrible horrible thing Stoney...
To win, you have to lose the bet. You bet someone that they can't fit a cue ball in their mouth. Most people can. You pay them the money and leave. Yes...pay and leave quickly. Why leave? Because there is no way they will be able to get the standard cue ball out. They can't get their fingers behind it to get any leverage. They will have to go to the hospital to have it removed. This is not a myth. Don't do it to anyone. Nothing is worth losing a bet. Gwyd |

Still, whats the size difference between a cueball and a normal pool ball?

No difference. The eight ball used was either undersized (Under 2") or he can unhinge his jaw like a snake.

Possibly undersized. But take a look at Stevie's teeth, that may also help him out.

I did notice the curve to his upper teeth...
It wouldn't be the first time someone sacrificed themselves physically for the sake of their art. Didn't think about that. Gwyd |

I've thought about having cartilage removed from my nasal passages to be able to get a "Melvin sized" nail in my head.

Stevie actually has a strong background in magic(look at the rubik cube / lock effects he performs).... He is a dangerous man with a deck of cards able to perform well with many sleights and strong presentation.
The best part about his folded card to mouth is that he gets to show his mouth actually empty, since he secretly swallows the card long before the revelation. |
