I've been trying to find out what this effect is called for about a year now, but to no avail.
I checked the normal Penguin, MJM, Theory11, Ellusionist, etc., but I can't seem to find this effect. Does anyone know what this effect is called and/or where to either buy or learn it? Here is a clip of Blaine performing it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4YGilMGX4pY |

The priciple is very old although I'm not sure who should be credited. You can find a version on Richard Sanders DVDs.

Hey thanks a lot for that info, its a good start. Unfortunately, I browsed around Sanders website and read through the various DVD's featured there and didn't seem to find anything that matched this effect.
Can anyone provide a bit more info, or has anyone ever performed this effect? |

I couldn't exactly see what the effect was, can someone please explain it to me? It looked just like the card changed when he threw it on the ground, which doesn't seem too impressive to me. I'm assuming that something else happened, otherwise it wouldn't be called 'cards to glass'.

I couldn't really tell much by the video either. It wasn't that clear. But yes, something happened on the ground but I couldn't tell what.
I'd much rather regret something I've done than something I was too afraid to do. Have a great day. Rachel.

The incorrect card is thrown to the ground, it then smashes into glass as it changes into the selection.

It is pretty hard to tell what is going on in the clip. From the comment that the spectator made at the end, it seems that the chosen card appeared encased in a block of glass when it hit the sidewalk. I would think that it was probably a block of plastic since it didn't shatter.
I don't know if there is a version in print but it should be pretty easy to work out a method just by watching the video. The card is selected in a particular manner and there is plenty of misdirection while the card is being searched for by the spectator. Just my 2 cents. |

It did? It was really hard to see on the YouTube video.
Well then the cost of doing this often just went way up. lol |

The selection and vanish looks like Annemann's "A Day-Time Nightmare" from Annemann's Card Miracles (available for free from The Learned Pig Project). Like others, I'm not entirely clear on even the effect of the revelation.
