Hi everyone and Happy 2009.
Sorry I haven’t been around much, but it seems I am always tied up with shows, traveling, or family. I wanted to wish every all the very best for the coming New Year. 2008 was another great year for me with many shows and projects I worked on. I am leaving in the morning for 15 TV and live stage shows of some big escapes in China and I just wanted to give you a heads up about two shows on Houdini that will air sometime soon. I was involved this past fall with two TV shows that will feature Houdini on them. “Murdoch Mystery’s” I only gave advice over the phone several times because I was unavailable to fly to the location. They wanted me to play the part of Houdini but my days as a 21 year old Houdini have passed.... A young Houdini is framed for murder and Murdoch has to find the killer. It was taped mainly in Toronto. “Mystery Hunters” we shot in Montreal and it looked at Houdini’s fatal punch... I preformed on that show but I had nothing to do with the final scripting or the host’s conclusion on Houdini. I never received a script until we finished several days of filming but did answer many questions over the phone with the writer and thought he was clear on everything. They also talked to other people while doing their research. They came to the conclusion that Houdini would probably have died on Halloween even without being punched in the stomach..... I wasn’t even in the last scene and was busy quietly packing my equipment when I overheard the host say this to the camera.... I went to the director and asked him how they figured this out and he said it was in the script and nothing we could do.... Away the show looked very interesting but as a consultant/performer you can only do your best. I did get to visit The Princess Theatre in Montreal and took some photos. This was where Houdini got punched in the stomach and preformed two more shows before traveling to Detroit where he later died. I do look forward to seeing the edited show. As soon as I hear any airing dates I will try and post them in time. 2009 looks exciting as well, with trips back to China, later in the year Malaysia, Europe, and lots of shows in Canada, and the USA. P.S. Congratulations to Mark & Sheila and Kevin & Kristen with their photos in the January MAGIC Magazine. I had some photos in there too, if anyone saw them, with a story of my Halloween escape that received National media attention. P.S.S. I don’t get here very often so if anyone ever needs to contact please use my e-mail address; escape@alwaysescaping.com Cheers. (I will post some photos of China escapes on Facebook) |

WOW.. No Houdini questions ????
I am having a great time escaping here in China . We had several great escapes and have 8 more to come. This is one escape that got a lot of media attention. It was in all the newspapers and TV news. This is the highest and fastest coaster of its kind in China. It was traveling at 116 KM's an hour. ( I will let the Amercians see if they can figure that out ???) We have had thousands of people at each escape !!! http://www.facebook.com/ext/share.php?si......&u=lDHj0 P.S. The Chinese food is good here too.... |

This TV show with Houdini aired last night. I thought it was neat to see a young Houdini working to become " a great escape artist". They showed a safe escape, st. jacket escape, and at the police station escaping from several sets of handcuffs. The cool part was when he was locked up in jail for murder, he of course escaped so he could fine the real killer. At the end he is friends with the Police again and after escaping from all the cuffs at the station he finds he can't get of the leg irons because the Sergant put glue in the lock..... Young Harry learns a lesson on the rise to the top !!!! |
