Hello, I have been leading children's lessons at a church in Palm Beach Gardens, FL for several years. I primarily have used science experiments as a tool to present the Gospel. Now I have been introduced to the idea of incorporating magic and am looking forward to learning more. Can anyone guide me to a video demonstration of the One Way card trick? Thanks.

I don't have a demonstation of that particular card trick, sorry. If you'd like to see on video a variety of Gospel magic, chalk art, and juggling performances, check out any of the seven programs already posted at http://www.ChristianMagician.org (and more programs will be added there shortly).

Thanks for the link. I will be sure to check it out. Did the One Way trick this past Sunday, and all went well. Am looking forward to learning more.

Mark, which one way card trick are you talking about? Is it the one with the arrows or a different one?

The one with the arrows. Sorry, I didn;t realize until after I posted that question that there were other tricks with the same name.

Sometimes people use different "helps" to keep them oriented properly when doing "One Way." I use little arrows which I have penciled in along the edge so only I can see them. I write "up" and "front" along the top edge so I know how to hold it to begin with at a glance. Then, when I get to parts where the flaps open up I have little arrows labeled 1 with a little arrow pointing to the left so I will always open it up to the world picture, and then a 2 with the little arrow to right so I will always open it up to the right for the scripture. Etc. Just follow Steve Varros instructions that come with the effect and practice so you can concentrate on the message without having to think much about the proper sequencing. I don't use the arrows and numbers much myself anymore, but they are still there. The other thing I'd recommend is to go to a FCM conference where Steve (Doc Haley) will be and ask him to do it for you. He's the master, having done it zillions of times.

I have a road sign I use and it changes direction when you turn it and I end it by saying "jesus is the only way"

An excellent way to end it. One could also make reference to the ark and the ONE DOOR or one way to escape destruction.

I use the arrows that points to the left and right and talk about the choices we make being right or wrong and how they can point us in different directions to the right or to the left or making the right or wrong choices. Then I flip it to make the arrow go up and down and talk about the really important choice is if we have made the right choice to go up and not down and end with Jesus being the right choice so we go up and be with Him. Of course I really labor the patter on the right choices and going up not down.
