Eric is amazing. The times he has worked the Castle bar were fantastic. He can entertain the crowd with stories or jokes or just his own insights.
He is a marvelous magician and a very fascinating guy. It was a great joy watching him work. Greg

Heh, I think this is only performance avaible on Ultimate 3 fly out there =) Just shows why it still is the best 3 fly out there. Mead seems to be extremely likeable person. Would be awesome if he lectured or made L&L set to see more of him.

Tremendous performance. You have to remember Eric was working in front of an extremely intelligent audience. Definitely not for the kiddie show or bar crowd.
Cheers!

I said extremely intelligent people, not the "smartest man in the world". And Eric would probably not concentrate his performance on the employees of the bar, or bouncers such as Chris Langan, if Eric were indeed working such an establishment. Semantics, semantics!

I read all of the comments first, then watched the clip fully expecting to bored out of my mind, but found myself entertained throughout.
A perfect example of how to perform for a very specific audience.

Eric's use of metaphor in his magical presentations is so intelligent that anybody finding this boring (as either an audience member or a performer) is, in my humble opinion, a person who is lacking a vital appreciation of the very tools that can make magic interesting, memorable, and perhaps above all, relevant.
What's really irksome is that I'm sure some people are going to "borrow" elements of Eric's presentation without even knowing what makes it so freakin' good. At least think about what he was attempting to do. On the other hand, maybe the only reason I liked it so much is that I'm a genius... |
