A friend of mind turned me onto this idea. He uses a Garcia Vega Cigar plastic tube. Garcia Vega cigars come in plastic tubes that are flesh colored. Cut them down to the size needed and you have a pretty good dye tube.

That sound great, the tube is probably reduced at the end? I imagine that would be good to keep the silk from popping out.

You could probably buy a commercially made dye tube for the cost of a cigar today. It's been a long time since there was a good 10 cent cigar. Remember Mike Caveney's bill in cigar routine? A great trick that would be costly today.
