Has anyone seen the demo of Dice Matrix at Hocus Pocus? It looks pretty amazing on film. I would be interested in any reviews of this product.

Hi Bob,
I do not have the effect in my hands but I know the creator. He is an old tiger who built lots of props exlusively for all his life,he is also a painter. He is a genius and never ever marketed a prop commercially before. So I can easily say that you wont dissapoint buying this and when you do let us know what you think. |

This was very interesting to me as well. More than "can the dice be examined", can the dice take a punishment? (I stack dice, and do the Ivory Connection.)

Interesting take on the classic matrix effect. I particularly like the fact that the cards can be seen to be leaning upwards towards the rear on top of the dice. That really adds something to the visuality of the effect.Like everyone else I am assuming that the dice must be gaffed. However a switch bag might be brought into operation at the oft to allow the dice to be fully examined so this need not be a concern.
Has anyone actually got this effect? A full review would indeed be wonderful and appreciated. |

Hello,
Yes, the dice can be examined. This is a very clever piece with a few subtleties that make it a real fooler. The props are excellent and the DVD instructions are complete. In my opinion this is a bargain at the low price it is offered at. Best regards Paul Gross Owner Hocus Pocus |

Hi Paul,
I had a question buried up there. Can the dice take the punishment of being stacked? (rattled in a cup) Am |

Hello Amiable,
The Dice are sturdy but I would not suggest trying to use them for dice stacking. Best regards Paul Gross Owner Hocus Pocus |

David Ben had a non-gimmicked version of Matrix with dice which was very clever. It involved the very subtle use of a "gaff" that we almost all have and almost always have with us. Of course, in David's hands almost anything looks absolutely great. However, for the low price, I can't see how you could possibly go wrong with this new version. I suspect it works similar to David's idea, but uses a self-contained gaff to eliminate the sleights. In fact, I'm ordering one as I write this.

The best dice matrix routine I've seen was put out years ago by Ken Brooke.

Looks fantastic, I'm amazed if the die are really examinable. Here's a direct link to the product.

I think what Ken Brooke put out was more of a Chink-A-Chink effect with dice. The cover was your hands. David Ben's used cards, just like this one and it is the fact that a card cannot cover a die and lay flat that makes this a puzzler.

The dice may be examinable, but I'm betting at least one of the cards is not.
