So now there are 2 threads in this section....can we conglomerate or is there schism amongst the ranks??

Whiskey - I'll PM you. I don't have a problem at the end of the day posting about where Cookies are and what they are, I just want to make sure I do it in the right place. I think your site is a great idea, and will be a great resource for people who buy the set. Since it's still so early in the game, I'm just wary of posting the stuff about Cookies out in the "open". I think the reviews are fine to be posted anywhere.
Jason - Thanks for your comments. It wasn't until I watched these first couple of discs that I really appreciated the element of being in the dark. I wanted to extend the courtesy to everyone else. I had the nice surprise of experiencing the lesser-known stuff for the first time when I watched the DVDs. Who am I to spoil that for anyone else? As for how many threads appear in this section now, I think it will be many. I think the thread started by Chris Kavanagh is a great place for all of the general conversation. I can't imagine trying to fit reviews from multiple members about 9 different discs all in a single thread. How does anyone find any specfic info down the road that way? I'm hoping to review a disc or 2 a night, and was planning on starting a new thread for each. That way it's easy for people to find the reviews for certain discs. Often, I feel sets should be reviewed together, but most sets top out at around 3 discs. To review something as epic as this in a single post or a single thread would be mind-boggling. I'm off to start on Disc 3 now. Back in a bit! Kevin

Kevin did a great job, but I'd also like to see additional reviews from others on this (and each subsequent thread). I like the idea of breaking it up into 2 disc segments. Here's a link to my initial thoughts on disc 1, and I hope others will follow suit.

Just finished watching Discs 3 and 4. Going to go write my review (in a separate thread) right now...
Kevin PS - I'd also love to see reviews from other people! I don't want to be thought of as the "TA Review Guy"...

There is really great material on these two disks. I really like the new vehicle for LV Leaper. I was surprised that there was no new work on Twilight Angels. I was happy that the best line in the original presentation was left out this time.

I have a question about the cookies which I'll try to ask without giving too much away.
The index pretty much lets you know how many cookies there are on the DVD's but it's also a little obscure. For instance are there 3 or 5 cookies on DVD 1? I've found 3 but I think there are 5. I think 3 are the easy to find "mushroom" cookies and there are an additional 2 harder to find cookies. I think that this type mixture follows throughout the entire set. If anyone has found the other 2, are they also easy to find? Mike |

Hi Mike. I found 4 Cookies on Vol 1. So, I don't know if the index is a true reveal of how many Cookies are on each disc (One would think so). If that's the case, then one of them is eluding me...

I thought of another thing regarding cookies....what if they hid them so you HAVE to put them in a computer...perhaps a PDF cookie (Easter egg)?

My guess is that most of the easter eggs are very easy to find, i.e. the 'mushroom' easter eggs, but that the other easter eggs will range in difficulty. Kevin, I'm assuming that 1 of the 4 easter eggs you found was not a 'mushroom' variety. Is that correct?

Mike, look at the index tab for a certain disc. If it has secret cookie listen 5 times then there are 5 cookies on that disc. At least that's my experience so far. I have gone through the first 5 DVDs and found one for every one listed. I'm just about to fire up number 6 and see where it takes me. Happy hunting.

Just finished watching disc 1. Haven't had a chance to check through all the cookies just yet (so far I found 2)
Wow. What a great way to kick start the set. The learning method is so different and unique in it's approach. I found that upon inserting the 1st DVD. It took about 2 minutes for my computer to recognise and made the funniest noise that I didn't even know a cd player could even make haha I think this is what some people referred to about the noise? Anyway... upwards and onwards. My thoughts: ( PH Intro ) Paul gives us a tiny bit of insight into the TA project. ( Twilight Angels ) I really like this effect. I think overall it's a great routine which leaves the presentation for it, wide open. Looks fun to do with a zippo! ( Backlash 2 ) To me. This routine looks very powerful, if you look at it from the spectators perspective. As Paul also mentions in the PHootnotes. It plays pretty well because, psychologically the spectators are already assuming certain things. ( New Leaf ) This was one of the effects that I was looking forward to. I'm going to have to find the time to practice this one soon. The magic happens in the spectators hands. Very powerful TNR plot. ( Cheng's Change ) This is my second favourite from the 1st DVD. It looks absolutely killer. The method is very clever (gimmickless) but will need moderate practice to get it down smooth. (The Big Tiny) Oh yeahhhh baby! this effect seriously rocks. It's going to go over with audiences really well (who doesn't like seeing their own name?) killer effect with a deviously easy method. Need I say more? I know I've been pretty vague with the descriptions etc.... but the truth is. Going in, knowing less is actually a more rewarding experience. I finally realised this after watching disc 1... Now I'm back off to watching the other goodies. Enjoy folks for those still patiently waiting... you're in for a HUGE treat! No doubt about it. |

Seems like Cheng tricks are the hardest ones in the set, I am amazed at how visual they are but this will take a long long time to learn them.
