I don't know.....I'm just feeling old today........at 39!!!
I used to be such a tech stud! Now, I'm just a tech dud! I've been thinking: CD-based albums have gone the way of the Do-Do...........what about bands releasing "albums" in the future, what with consumers just being able to cherry-pick the song(s) that appeal to them online? What about the CD "liner"....you know, will we be able to read why the band wrote this song or that song or the back story for each song.........who played tambourine on this tune or that tune....I love reading crap like that........... ......and some artists release an album, with the intention that all songs will be listened to in sequence.....as a whole unit. What about that? I dunno, I'm just so old. ....and what the heck will a "record store" look like in the future? Will they disappear?

When CDs (or as Jerry Lee says, "itty bitty records") were introduced lots of people felt the same way about album cover art. What was once seen as an important artistic component of a record was diminished.
Most people got over it - but trying to pick out Sgt Pepper faces on an ipod just doesn't measure up. The sooner they direct inject the music and associated imagery into our brains via the neckport, the better off we'll be.

39...and you look like that? You look more like 59!
I'm not talking about your looks; I'm talking about your unhealthy condition! You ARE old. You need to get some fresh air, start exercising and learn to eat something healthy once in a while. And it wouldn't kill you to drink some water every now and again. You should be ashamed of yourself for letting yourself get out of shape like that. You are old, you feel old and you look old. Imagine what's really doing on the inside?! Come on man, snap out of it and do something active today! Bikini season is right around the corner! |

"Record stores", much like magic stores, ARE beginning to disappear.

Justin my friend...
I know what you are saying is out of love for your fellow human beings, but that was a little on the harsh side. Ease up on the guy. He was just noticing something that makes him feel old. I can relate. Making him feel older is definately not going to help in any way. I had a totally "feel old" moment just a few days ago when I saw a picture of my self in college- One of my head shots. A narrow shouldered new kids on the block lookin little emo/goth kid... I had to look at it real hard to find me in there. I found me...the raised eyebrow and smirky smile...The one that is now behind a white goatee. I didn't ask "How did I get so old..." but "When in the heck was I so young?" I turn 40 this year and am seriously considering canceling my birthday. I feel bad about that...I don't want to deprive my friends of the chance to have the traditional fun at my expense...I just don't want to deal with it. Gwyd |

Honestly, the only car I ever really wanted was one of the original Mini Coopers.
I have nothing I need to evercompensate for. ;) Gwyd |

How about the gloriously graphic, expansive 12" album jacket or the "easter egg" in a treasured few 12" record albums, an 11.5 x 11.5" booklet that might be up to 12 pages, even more ... sometimes with notes and art, sometimes with an entire album's worth of libretto. And you missed the real vanished "easter eggs", the occasional goofy feature like the peelable Andy Warhol banana cover for the first Velvet Underground album, and wasn't there a Stones album with a zipper on the cover? I miss 'em too. |

And didn't he do a great job of landing that aardvark in the Hudsen?
I turn 50 this year and feel great. When I look at old pics I do feel moments of nostalgia and wonder where it all went but basically as long as you have breath in your body - you're alive so get out there and $^ing live. I'm so glad I've studied cold reading because I can deduce facts others miss. For example I can confidentally say Justin played soccer as a youth - how else would he have developed that ability to so squarely deliver a kick to the balls? I think the intent was good though. we all need a little shock treatment and slapping to live healthier. I like his constant reminders to live healthy - you not only get healthier but feel more positive - you get a lot more out of life. Don't get down about being late 30's or early 40's. I promise the late 40's are the best time of your life (though for all I know it gets even better later ) Destiny |

I will turn 39 next month and I am having the time of my life. What is great is that I have every expectation of 39 blowing 38 away. It is truly all about mindset.
