Here's something from someone who bought one this year: http://www.penny-arcade.com/comic/2009/1/30/ In the article associated with the comic, the user states that it's a good laptop, but it shuts down during ordinary use due to the overheating. I know this is an old thread, but I haven't been on for a while. I just wanted to point out that the lack of viruses on the Mac is not due to the smaller number of Macs vs. Windows PC's in the world, it is because of the way the Mac OS works. Someone above said that the Mac OS is based on Linux, actually Mac OS X is built on top of an open source version of BSD Unix.
A good article which explains the lack of viruses on the Mac was written by David Pogue for The New York Times, you can read it HERE. |

I was always a PC guy but made the switch to MAC last fall. While the initial price may be more for the Mac, if I had to add the equivilant software to a PC, we'd be right back to the same price, if not more.
I'm very satisfied with my Mac. |

Me too! Just last weekend I decided to go with a Mac pro as I do a lot of graphic work and was mainly concerned about security issues and most of the questions I had in my mind were answered in this thread.
