The performer brings out a folded piece of paper on which, he explains, there is a prediction having to do with the ancient system of astrology.
A set of 12 cards is introduced, each bearing the information for one of the signs of the zodiac. These are mixed, and one is selected. The prediction paper is unfolded. On it are the 12 symbols that represent the 12 signs. There is a red arrow drawn on the paper, pointing to one of the signs. The designated sign, proclaims the performer, is the one for the sign that is selected. Of course, the average person is not entirery familiar with these symbols, so the audice isn't sure if the performer's prediction is legitimate; they suspect, perhaps, that this is a bluff situation. To validate his prediction, the performer refolds the paper, in such a way that parts of the various symbols are arranged to spell out the English word for the chosen sign. -September 1997, Genii. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=69UVRWh0iIM
