Ok, at school today a teacher was proudly displaying an iPod touch he got through a referral website. I've always thought them to be hoaxes, as far as I know they are, but this one website is apparently legitimate. I personally know a few people who claimed to have gotten their iPod, MacBook, iPhone, and others through this referral system. It really seems legitimate. Anyway, I've decided to test it. All I need is for 20 people to go to my link, sign up for this referral thing so they too can continue sending the link around, and once I hit 20 people signed up I apparently get a free MacBook, shipped free by UPS.
So please, check out this link and give her a go. It might be a hoax, but it is NOT dangerous. http://www.freemacbookpro.com/?referral=e3he81 Michael

Will do! I have 3 referrals so far... 17 to go. Hopefully this will work.

They do want you to subscribe to one of the advertisers, right? I didn't read everything throughly but is that what's happening?

Ha, never mind, it's a hoax. But no, no subscribing to anything was necessary.

I remember Kevin Rose from The Screen Savers did this on the show before, and it did work, problem is for each referral you get, it's that much harder for everyone else to get theirs.

So then, what you're saying is that I'm going to have to drop $1,300 on a MAC Book!

Not necessarily... I've heard that legitimate referral websites are around, but I doubt it, very seriously. They are usually scams.
