The official web site for Michigan Magic Day 2009 is http://www.MichiganMagicDay2009.com
The dates are April 17th, 18th, and 19th 2009. The events for April 17th and 19th will be held at: The Timid Rabbit Magic Shop Warehouse - 921 Portage Street - Kalamazoo Michigan 49001. The events for April 18th will be held at: The Kalamazoo County Expo Center (Kalamazoo County Fair Grounds) - 2900 Lake Street - Kalamazoo Michigan 49048. Please visit our web site for the schedule and MapQuest directions. Tickets and registrations can be purchased through our web site, from any Ring 333 (The Fox Ring) member, or by phoning 269-344-2001 (daytimes) or 269-501-2573 (evenings). All seating is reserved and with the date quickly approaching you may want to register soon. At this time we have booked Boris Wild (France), Chris Capehart (Maryland), David Seebach and Company (Wisconsin), Hank Moorehouse (Michigan), and Alan Smola (Michigan). Unfortunately my good friend Vanni Bossi from Italy, who I had also booked for Michigan Magic Day, passed away not long ago. His loss leaves a hole in our world that mere words can not fill. He will be sadly missed! We also have tentative bookings on four additional acts who I will be confirming later this week. For the next four days I will be updating this post with more information. Please stop back soon for additional information on Michigan Magic Day 2009. Take Care And Take Cards Antony Gerard Michigan Magic Day 2009 |

Michigan Magic Day 2009 will include Junior and Senior Close-Up and Stage competitions with prizes. Contact us as soon as possible because there will only be three competitors in each category. There will also be a "Funny Story" competition during the convention. The stories must be true and magic or magician related. Winning stories will be included in "The Funny Side Of Magic - Book Two" to be released later this year.

Registration for Michigan Magic Day 2009 is $50.00 for one day or $100.00 for two to three days. Friday registration includes dinner on us.
Dealers receive four 3X8 tables and a registration is all that is required to get a dealers booth. Dealers booths are limited so please reserve your spot soon. There are three shows running concurrently at the Kalamazoo County Expo Center. A Pinball machine show and for those who want to add something unique to your show, a reptile show. A registration to Michigan Magic Day does not gain you entrance into the other shows. Take Care And Take Cards Antony Gerard Michigan Magic Day 2009 http://www.MichiganMagicDay2009.com |

I just added Dave Kaplan and Tim Wright to the Michigan Magic Day 2009 lineup. Combine that with Boris Wild (France), Chris Capehart (Maryland), David Seebach and Company (Wisconsin), Hank Moorehouse (Michigan), and Alan Smola (Michigan) and you have the makings of a great convention. And we are not done yet! Take Care And Take Cards Antony Gerard Michigan Magic Day 2009 http://www.MichiganMagicDay2009.com |

For those thinking about registering, please keep in mind that all evening show seating is reserved seating. The earlier you register, the better your seats will be. We have just started to sell tickets and over 50 have been sold so far.

February 16th 2009 update
I just added my friend J.C. Wagner to the Michigan Magic Day 2009 line up. J.C. has been semi-retired doing occasional lectures, magic conventions, and personal appearances since 1990. This is indeed a rare opportunity to see one of magic's great close-up performers both perform and lecture. Hello fellow Wand Wielding Wizards
A few of the competitors have asked what the judging criteria will be and what the competition stage will be like. Below you will find the information that is not yet on our web site. The competition stage is a portable stage and has back and side curtains; however, it does not have front curtains. We have lighting, sound, and stage strikes to help with set up and tear down if needed. There will be five judges and the high and low scores will be thrown out. Judging will be primarily on entertainment value and presentation. The competition time frame is eight minutes. Below is the criteria for judging. Highest possible score is 100 points. Competitors will receive copies of the judging cards. ORIGINALITY = 0 to 10 Points Originality of effects, presentations, or routines. Appearance = 0 to 10 Points Appearance of performer, costume, and props. STAGE PRESENCE = 0 to 10 Points Personality, confidence, and professionalism. ENTERTAINMENT VALUE = 0 to 35 Points Audience and judge reaction and appreciation of performance. PRESENTATION = 0 to 35 Points Routine, showmanship, and technical ability. The competitors have the option of either working on the stage or on the floor. Thank you Antony Gerard Michigan Magic Day 2009 http://www.MichiganMagicDay2009.com |
