Can anyone tell me anything about this guy? I own some of his magic, (Transformer, Magic Tester, Phantom, a plastic spoon bending trick, Miracle Disc, Star Crash, and a few others.) I know Transformer has recieved horrible reviews. I was wondering about his style as a magician as his tricks seem different than others. What's the story on him? Does anyone like his line of magic tricks? The only thing I know about him is his magic is from "back in the day".

Werry (Werner Geissler) was born 1925 in Dueren, Germany.
By the age of 20, he began his magical career with a manipulation act. He went on to create hundreds of effects and manufactured them as well. Many of his inventions became classics, like his Matchbox Illusion (a coin vanishes out of a triangle of matches that was covered with a matchbox), Blitz Cocktail/Flash Cocktail (two empty glasses are placed mouth to mouth and colored liquid suddenly appears as the glasses are shaken like a cocktail shaker), Coca-Cola Sensation (a bottle is placed in a tube and vanishes completely), Zauberautomat/ Vanishing Coin Pedestal (a coin vanishes on a small pedestal when covered with a lid. When the spectator tries to discover the secret, he finds a small disc with the words "Fooled Again!" written on it inside of the "secret compartment" in the bottom of the pedestal. The coin vanished completely!), and many many more. Werry also was the first to produce Vanishing Canes from sheet plastic. His clever effects with plastic poker chips were popularised by FISM Prize Winner Erhard Libenow. The only way I can see magic like that getting bad reviews is if the reviewers were expecting something that required no skill, thought, or practice!

Very impressive history William. 1925 was a long way back. Great info. Thanks.

That's a quality list of magic. One bad review does not lead to an overall diagnosis. Thanks Mr. William.
Et tu, Spartacus?
