Greetings!
Being a big Fan of Nick Pudar's Stackview program (thanks again Nick!) I will frequently use his Stackview Test to keep the Mnemonica stack fresh in my memory. I recently purchased a new iPod Touch and thought it would be cool if Nick's program could be run on the Touch or iPhone as an application. While I am sure it is possible (with a jailbreak and A LOT of work) I came up with a flash card workaround that can quiz you on the Mnemonica stack that runs on the Touch or iPhone. The way it works is it uses the built-in Photo app on the iPod Touch or iPhone with the native shuffle and slideshow features and variable timer setting. The photo app is meant to view photos as a slide show, but I've created PowerPoint charts and turned them in JPEG files that can be viewed with the iPod photo app. Each slide contains a number between 1-52 in the center of the screen and then down in the left hand corner are three graphics of the corresponding cards that relate to the stack number shown and the previous card in the stack and the following card in the stack. If you block off the bottom left hand corner of the screen with a business card or piece of paper you will have a great way to quiz yourself on the Mnemonica stack! I'm going to also create the opposite flash card set which will show the graphic of a playing card in the center of the screen and then the corresponding stack number in the lower left hand corner. Anyone who is interested in this can PM me and I can send you the zip file of the flash cards. Cheers! ** Bill ** |

Looks like it has many of the features of my application except mine if free!

Even though that I already know the stack, it helpes me to  reinforce it and have more profiiency when remembering which number a card is and vice versa. I highly recommend it, also is quite cheap. |
