Are you talking about the cards that come with True Astonishments?
If so, they're used for one of the "Easter Egg" effects. Kevin

I've viewed every single easter egg in the set, to my knowledge. My understanding is that there are a total of 43. If so, then I've seen them all and I don't recall anything involving said cards.

I had already mentioned that it was for an easter egg in another thread. Nathan has just given you the name of the effect. I can't remember which disk it was on but you've obviously missed an easter egg because I've watched it and I love the trick. I use it for walk-around now.

Ah, you're correct! I realize I skipped over that egg because I assumed it was simply a recording of the original Bizarre Shrink from Paul's old video tape series (as many of the eggs are). Since I have that series, I passed it by.
Thanks for the heads up.

Just looked at it. It was, in fact, the old clip of Paul. I thought there might be some new handling presented.
I've been doing the original for years and, I have to say, I prefer it with the regular miniature cards.

With mini cards anything you do after the shrinking of a playing card you either can't flash the big card in the deck during other effects or you have to remove it so then your left with not a full deck. I think using the advertising cards is a big advantage because you just throw them away anyways so why not use the advertising cards for a trick that way when you done you don't have a dupe in your performing deck and you aren't short on cards. But that's IMHO.
Do what I do..use it for your advantage by constructing about companies taking every space they can to advertise, tv commercials, huge billboards, flyers, newspapers, etc. What a wonderful world it would be if we could shrink advertising (tv with shorter commercials, newspaper with just one page of advertising instead of pages upon pages, etc.) Then show the big asvertising card in your deck and say they even think that use magicians pay attention to the advertising cards they put it a deck, when really they just get in the way, but if it wasn't the same size as the normal cards it would be ok then have them hold it shrink it and there is the magicians front to shorten and decrease advertising. A quick question: what's the best way to get the cards out of the holder?

I think you have to cut them. They don't look like they are perforated enough (if at all) to pop out. Or at least mine don't.
