I was going to use a rose to silk, but I have a couple of questions and I was hoping someone could help. My main question was: Once a rose has turned into a silk, can it be turned back into the rose.
And what rose to silk would you recommend. Thanks, matt

This is a simple effect to make yourself from Dollar Store parts, but don't limit yourself to a "Silk to Rose" or a "Rose to Silk." You can use any flower, not just a rose. Some work better than others (orchids are kind of tough because of their floppy shape), but daffodils, tulips and other flowers that look like little containers can actually BECOME little containers to contain a silk. You can also use carnations and other fluffy flowers that have some camouflage to them. So my response is to visit a Dollar Store, pick out some flowers, and see what you can come up with. If you need help, you may find it in "Flower Power" in The Wizards' Journal #14 on my site.

Once the rose becomes a silk, you are stuck with a silk. However, you might look into having a reel to pop a real rose back onto your coat.

Or, you could always put some time between the two effects, such as turning a flower into a silk, using the silk in some other effects or even manipulations such as a knot routine, and then performing silk to flower before putting it back in your lapel or in the vase from which it came. If you can imagine it, it can (almost always) be done.

That is cool ! I have done gags for years now with the fake rose on a reel. This takes that to another level. Thanks for the link...
