I've got a nice 10 x 10, table, glass case, etc., for the standard Higley outdoor set up. (And, of course, a world famous THING!) The weather in the North East limits the outside exposure, of course, to agreeable times of the year. My thin wallet recognizes no such weather scheduling!
Assuming some indoor flea, or something similar, how would you set up? Certainly no room for a tent. I'm trying to imagine an inexpensive set up that limits traffic and view, but allows some 'front' for signs, but still fits in the car for transport. Have any of you solved - or seen - a possible answer to this situation? Due to a fortunate circumstance, I have a complete double set of signs. Perhaps a set - or partial sign set - outside the building and then one full sign set up at the exhibit inside. But how to handle line of sight access, crowd control/ attendee management inside? (Or even sign installation for that matter?) brane |

A ply tabletop screen slotted into sections as a walkaround unit may work.

Gave this a try >>> not much doing in the winter here so on odd Wednesdays have attended a jumble market @ the Cheese & Grain Theatre in Frome (Just a dozen miles down the road from me).
Put a zibb on a table inside an open topped box and covered all with a cloth. Now with a bit of thought and some stickum letters, signs to the effect that inside this box was a very strange thing,,,in fact a very famous strange thing,,which had been seen by,,,,,(Here I listed all the Royals etc that had seen it back in the good old days of the Charity tour). Now thinking about this afterwards,,,it put a different complection on the whole unit. Rather than pushing the fact that it was a strange thing to see,,,I had inadvertantly pushed the fact that members of the elite set had put their eyes on it,,,this became the come on,,,,who had seen it rather than what it was !!!! Crazy, but true. Week one was a waste of time,,,but people showed interest but no cash out. Week two these people came back, with their friends and some and all paid the 50p. Week three (the final week for us) Loads of people came in, just to see us!!! Trouble was this upset the other sellers and we were asked not to bring it again !! So there you go,,, desperate showmen always find a way. Ken. |

I'd think your problems would be fewer if you just went ahead and used a tent inside. Certainly attention getting.
I would consider buying one of the 4' or 5' square EZ-UPS that all the Verizon and ATT Wireless businesses use in front of their signup stores (and, here in L.A., the Med. Farmacies use them, or so I'm told). These babies are small enough for indoor use, making sidewalls would be a no-brainer if you had a grommeter and a couple of beers... and if you set it up canted diagonally you'd have a natural walk-thru setup with the Zibit in the near corner, blocked from view...as in Doug's advice book. If the EZ-UPS are too expensive, you can build the same thing with PVC pipe. Easy up and down, just not mechanical. 10 minutes assembly instead of 3 minutes. Any good fabric shop will set you up with the perfect fabric to give you any look you want. Plush knits have worked best for me at the Fairgrounds: never wrinkle, stretches to fit well, easy to wash, etc.

How about putting up canvas "walls" around the 'zib? All you would need is 4 uprights with sturdy bases and canvas material. You could hang a bannerline from it and draw lots of attention. Plus it could be done with the dwindling pieces of paper you have in your wallet.
