In some videos I've downloaded I see Magi using Chinese coins with two colors, black(annodized?) with shiny copper/brass characters and border. What are these coins called and where can one order them from?
Thanks in advance, Geoff Roberts AKA Capt. Coins |

These coins are made by Johnson and you can find a variety of colors and a few sizes of them at http://www.magicsmith.com

The best place to get chinese coin, half dollars and other coins is Ebay.com
You can get some incredible deals on them. Some of them are exactly the same as the ones the magic stores cary but you can get them for a really good price. The next best place is Magicproshop http://www.magicproshop.com/index.php?ac......p;id=300 They have better prices than magicsmith on the same coins. Go to ebay or magicproshop for chinese coins. If you are looking for jumbo chinese coin the best place to look at is http://themagicwarehouse.com/coins2.html#co1463 Hope that helps. Brad

I forgot to say that out of all the other shops that offer chinese coins MagicSmith has the best selection of colors, sizes, and types. They also have some gaffs made out of chinese coins.

Man they are expensive at magicsmith! Are they $7.50 for just one coin?! I bought 10 english pennies off of ebay for $5.50 By the way, is magicproshop's site down? I have not been able to connect all day.

That is actually cheap Evan for Chinese coins. It is no cheaper anywhere else. English pennies are different because there are MUCH MORE of them and they are actual coins that have been used. The Chinese ones are made by Johnson and are fake. The characters actually say "Made in China."

chajodawg,
This is Peter Whiteman from MagicProShop, yes our site may be down for some people(depending where you are in the U.S). I am terribly sorry about the inconvenience; we are in the middle of switching servers and this is unfortunately what happens sometimes. Right now we are in the middle of what is called a DNS transfer. This transfer should be complete within the next 24-48 hours (today is May 10th). In the mean time you should be able to access our website through one of these two IP addresses. 208.155.76.186 or 216.154.206.250 Just copy one of the IP addresses above into your address bar and you should you be able to access our site. You may have to try both IP addresses. Again, I am terribly sorry about the inconvenience this may have been to you. To all those who have had trouble accessing our site within the last 24 hours I would like to offer you a coupon which is good for 10% OFF. This coupon will be good for 7 days. I hope this will be of some help to you all. Coupon Code = down Coupon expires 05/17 If anyone else has any troubles or if there is ever anything I can assist you with please feel free to contact me. Andrew,
Thanks for the info. I definitely want to look into getting some Chinese coins for a spellbound routine. Right now I can only practice two coin moves with my English pennies Peter, What can I say, you are a great businessman. It is no problem that your site is down for a little while, you have to do what you have to do . I just wanted to make sure my internet was not acting up. I will definitely head over and check out your Chinese coins, especially with that 10% coupon! Evan |

I find that everything on magicsmith is a little over priced and you can find better prices on the same stuff. Ok there are the few special items at magicsmith that you can only get their, but everything els is a bit over priced.
Just my opinion. Brad

Brad, they have good prices whether you think so or not. However, because of all the new shops who are offering all these constant sales and free shipping etc. YOU and others have been conditioned to think good is bad. And now you think that it needs to be cheaper. Just to let you know. Magicsmith has that big sign saying WE LOVE TO PRICE MATCH!!!!!! Problem solved right there.
