Kingjay, I actually recorded a weight loss session with a real client, a client unknown to me, who had purchased a CD form me 6 months ago and lost almost 50 lbs. She still has some weight to loose, so she came for a live session. I am in the process of editing it up with commentary for an instructional video, and also plan to do the same thing for a smoking DVD if I can get someone to participate.... Check back with me in a week or two and I will have the weight video edited. In the meantime, this is a clip of a real session with a DJ who smoked 2 packs a day at work in a bar 6 nights a week, and since this single session ahs remained smoke-free despite this work enviroment since the clip was put up almost two years ago.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uP8j2OwPwUc
If you are interested in the clinical side of things.... We have some upcoming clinical hypnosis courses, and hypnothoughts.com is a great forum for clinical hypnosis discussion like this topic...

King, there are actually quite a few books/CDs/DVDs on exactly this. I like the videos by people such as Don Mottin and Gerry Kein.
I have absolutely no doubt that you are not only "fairly intelligent," but are very intelligent. Still, I wouldn't want to go to a brain surgeon merely because he or she was very intelligent. I'd want someone who was intelligent, trained, and experienced. Respectfully, the hypnotherapeutic paradigm differs from the paradigm practiced by most orthodox Western medical practitioners in one major way. Western doctors view the body as a complex machine. If one part is broken either fix it or replace it. The fix for one machine is the same as the fix for all machines. In hypnotherapy, every person is viewed as a unique individual and deserves a unique and individual approach to creating change. This means that a DVD or book may work perfectly for your best friend, and not work at all for you. As a unique individual, you're entitled to individual attention, and in my training I learned how to do exactly that. I realize that you're not out to start a clinic, but I would respectfully suggest that even if all you want to do is smoking cessation/weight regulation, getting in=person training is the way to go. Books, audios and videos make great additions to actual training. |
