Dave,

Had trouble logging into paypal through your link but could log in on their main page.

Sent it with a memo attached. Send my best to Jim.

Dave from Ken to me......
"Hi, we were busking at Bath today and our last Hat of the day was for Jim.
We changed the coppers into paper money put it in an envelope and delivered it to the address you originaly posted, in Bath.

The Lady there,,,seemed a bit in the dark but after explaining to her what it was all about took the cash in for safe keeping. I put my name and home number on the envelope,,,this was the only way that she would accept it !!!

Hope we did the right thing ? "

Regards Ken, (Ken Dean aka Kondini)

Dave.
I will be back in Bath on the 17 march, then We will send it on

Thank you.

So far the donation drive is going well. I'm preparing to send the first check to him in a few days.

Keep it coming!

The last message I heard came from a gentleman named Martin in a letter to Tom Piccard:

"Hi Tom

Yes Jim had a bad stroke but is getting better, he can talk, a bit, but there is still a lot to recover. He will be going to a Clinic for 2 to 3 weeks and so we hope things will develop to better.

There is not much one can do, just to wait. I gave Marianne your regards.

Here spring is slowly appearing, the ice cold weather is hopefully gone.

so long
Martin"

I'm putting together 10 boxes to sell. I'm getting items from many distributors.
This will all be put together and sold. All profits will go to Jim.

So far the people donating are:
Jimmy Talksalot
Myself
KozmoMagic
Murphys Magic Supplies

I'm currently talking with:
L&L
Fun Inc
MagicMakers Inc.
...and I'll be talking to a lot more.

I should hear back on Monday from all of them. All seem eager to donate good items to help Jim. I got a call from Murphys today and they increased their donation from 10 DVDs. They are also going to donate 10 books (possibly 20) as well.

The list of items is growing...

Once all the items have been received, we'll sell them and get the money off to Jim.

This similar technique worked really well when Dean Dill had his accident. I ended up donating hundreds of dollars to Dean that I would have been unable to do otherwise. I'm hoping for similar results here.

Have the details of this fundraising effort been sent to the magic magazines? They did a good job getting help for Dean Dill when he needed it after his accident.

I just got a call back from L&L. They will be donating DVDs.
FunInc. also returned my call and will also be donating. Just won't know until it arrives.

So the guaranteed donators so far are:
L&L
Murphys
The Ambitious Card
Jimmy Talksalot
KozmoMagic
Fun Inc.

This is great. The first check has been delivered. Marianne calls us "Angels."

New donations are dwindling though. Let's keep the ball rolling!

Do you know if it's possible to WIRE the funds to Jim?
I was asked by one of the donators to check.

If by "wire" you mean Western Union, that's what I did. Anyone can do it if they want to go to the trouble but be prepared, the fees take almost 10%. Now that I have an account established, I can lump all donations into a single check and do it all at once.
