Our film editor Randy got his computer fixed after his hard drive crashed, so he is now producing again more Now That's Magic! programs which air on five local cable access channels in SW Michigan. Brand new program #4 is now posted at http://www.ChristianMagician.org, with more to follow. This program features Duane Laflin with a nice rope effect and Gospel silk/change box, Brad Brown's coin prediction, Alan Kazam's Strat-O-Spheres, Leo Peter's upside down three glass suspension, MagicBob does his rope wrist escape, Randy Craven does another original and excellent Gospel magic Creation story using a dove pan, and I mess around with sponges and water. Enjoy, and feel free to send me your own DVD footage if you'd like to be on a future program...

Oh, I forgot to mention. MagicBob does the Laflin Russian Rings routine on Now That's Magic #4- just a thing of beauty to watch! Thanks MagicBob! If you have considered buying this pretty effect, check this video out.

MagicBus, another great video. Was some of your routine with the water color change some workings of the 'pro sands of the desert' you just purchased awhile back?

Thanks, the water color change in a small glass I believe is available from Stevens Magic. I bought it two years ago from an overseas dealer at the World Magic Seminar. We did film Pro Sands of the Desert in a very fast, unpracticed "take" and it turned out kinda ok. Great trick though. We had a very good film day several weeks ago, filmed a bunch of new Gospel effects. I think our editor Randy now has enough footage now for at least three more programs- but we can always use more! So lots of good stuff coming down the pike including some very new original Gospel magic. MagicBob's very involved and funny "Sword Thru Neck" is the best routine I have seen ever using this prop. Stay tuned! And thanks again for the kind words, much appreciated!

What format do submissions need to be in?

I prefer submissions just be in regular DVD format. When I get them, I "catalog" and time everything out, label it, and forward it on immediately to our series Editor, he makes all the decisions what goes in, what he can use, etc.. He then puts them together into programs as his schedule permits. So it is kinda a neat process, all of us have agreed to let Randy put it all together as he sees fit and finds time to do. Send any DVDs to Roger Bus, 903 East Cork Street, Kalamazoo, Michigan 49001. I myself have no idea what is in any given program until it comes out. We have done 8 so far, and more to follow! The programs are shown now on a regular and ongoing basis on five cable systems in SW Michigan, also sent to India and the FCM Musuem (Steve Varro).

MagicBus,
What is the name of the glass you used for your water color change? Thought it looked very good! Thanks. |

It was literally the first time I ever performed it, you can do it much smoother or faster actually, I kind of did it jerky to make it look more complicated than it really is. It is available from Stevens Magic Emporium: http://www.stevensmagic.com. It costs a whopping $67.50, including shipping and handling, so it is fairly expensive. Very easy to perform. It is entitled UGM's Chameleon Champagne. A video clip of it is also on the Stevens web site. Very pretty, and it is pretty amazing to change the water to so many colors, not just one or two. Another brand new Now That's Magic! #5 should be posted by 3-11-09 at http://www.ChristianMagician.org Thanks again for the kind words, Enjoy!
